Wow, some really nice pieces of hardware here.

Had some fun on the past weekend. This was our 7th year at racing in the Lake to Lake classic Lake to Lake Events here in Ontario, that runs along the Welland canal. Once again it was tough race. The winner Josh Hall, a former pro rider finished the 52K (31 miles) in 1:50.

The bh was 2nd out of 8 in the 50+ womens class and was 53rd out of the total of 105 women. I came in 12th out of 98 in the 50+ mens class and 185 out of the 750 men riders. It feels great to be passing all those younger riders.

Had to laugh.... On the course I was behind a group of guys pushing their bikes up a steep grade. A young gal rides towards them and yells out "rider up". The group of guys split left and right and the gal pedals up the steep grade without effort. My hat comes of to those women who can excel!

Airstreams..... The best towing trailers on the planet!

Just revisited this thread... On July 25th, Tipton Iowa hosted RAGBRAI XXXVI as an overnight town. Our town of 3155 residents hosted some 20,000 visitors, most of them on bikes! It was a great time had by all. I think I have to ride it next year! I put 20 miles on my black Trek that day, and my other officer put 30 miles on hers. I had 31 officers from out of town come help, and there were nine of us on bikes total.

In late June, I picked up two of the last '06 Burley recumbents left in captivity, a Hepcat SWB for me (all XTR with a Trutative CF crankset) and a Jett Creek LWB for my wife (all SRAM x9). Boy, are THEY different to ride. There is quite a learning curve. The 'bents went to the East Coast with us this month, and got road time in Charleston, SC, Tappahannock, VA, and College Park MD.

I kept the GT and gave it to my youngest son (now 19) who loves it. I found that the chainstays had fractured. GT is no longer honoring their "as long as you own the frame" warranty, but I found a local who TIG welded the chainstays for me and did a fabulous job.

The Giant Halfway and '93 diamond-frame Bike Friday Pocket Rocket both went to new owners in SoCal. I just bought, but haven't yet recieved a new/used '04 Trek F600 folder with Shimano rapid fire.

What have you guys been up to?
