Mt Rainier camping

Does anybody have any recommendations on campgrounds near the njsqualley entrance of my rainier? I'm not a huge fan of the first come first serve approach in the park itself.

Cougar Rock in the Park takes reservations or outside the park Eastcreek Campground.

We camped at Cougar Rock about a month and a half ago. I was able reserve online. We fit in a pull through site easily. Try and get the most level one you can. Some looked like a nightmare for leveling. I dont think you will be able to use any of the back ins. Also, the dump station will be a REAL tight fit for you. No wiggle room at all. I will dump somewhere outside the park next time.

I did all of our resers online. I know there is a number you can call but I haven't tried it. Might be best if you are going at the last minute.

Talking to a real human can help if there's a cancellation. I've gotten the last spot several times when the web said places were full.

Try Mounthaven CG near Ashford. Rustic but well located just outside gate to park. Easy walk to town for eats - for a small town it has some GREAT restaurants including Wildberrys (ever had Nepalese food? Wow)
