Smile Monty & Glenrose--Off we go!

We purchased our first Airstream 3 years ago, an 03--25' Classic. Went to TN to get it from Dave and Felecia Bear (Wxbuoy) and they treated us like Royalty!
Four days of Great instruction on how to do almost everything with an
Airstream. It, needless to say, was a great way to start our new adventure.
Last summer we went on our first Caravan out to the Blue Ridge and loved the
experience! We kind of got the bug to get a 31' and sometimes things just fall into place!
While at the DenCO Maintenance Rally Glenrose found an 08-30' Classic Limited
in Denver. (On Air Forum) We made arrangements to see it that weekend. The rally sponsored an open house and we invited friends who were interested getting their first Airstream to come look at 15 or 20 different models. They knew we were thinking of selling the 25' and after looking at a number of those at open house they told us they would like to buy ours!
The next week we purchased the 30'-Wow what a weekend!
We are off to Westcliffe CO for "High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival"
and Airstream Rally.
So "Off we Go" Hope to see you down the road!
Safe Traveles

Congrats on your new trailer; like you Blue Ridge last year got us hooked too! We are now in Dawson City, Yukon with a caravan organized by Kerry Matilla in the Ontario unit. And what another great time we are having!
Hope to see you again one day, somewhere!

Congratulations on your new larger Airstream. We enjoyed meeting you last year in Fort Collins on our way to Alaska.

First Vintage Rally!

Westcliffe CO, what a beautiful area! Mountains where ever you look and a grand valley between. This was the location of our first “Vintage Rally” Although we don’t have a vintage Airstream we felt welcome and it was a fun time. The icing on the cake was the “High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival” with groups like
Dry Branch Fire Squad, The Moron Brothers, Adkins and Loudermilk and many more.

We parked in Wally style in the pasture of the beautiful Painted View Ranch. The area is at almost 8000’ so the weather was perfect with highs about 80 and down to 50 at night! It was all great and the highlight for me was the opportunity to hear Ron Thomason with “Dry Branch Fire Squad” playing the Mandolin and Guitar! What a treat to hear such wonderful talent!
On the last night a forest fire broke out about 15 miles from our location no threat to us but sure a lot of smoke! (See bottom photo)
More down the road, safe travels.

Steamboat Springs

A fun time and the DenCo family keeps growing. We had a number of associate members from the 4 Corners unit show up and added a couple of new DenCo
members! (For those of you wondering DenCo is the Northern section of Unit 11)
Maybe the name should be changed so people know what it is??

Jim Van Namee gave a great photography class on "Moving from point and shoot to controlling your shots" It is easy to pick up pointers from a teacher with Jim's ability. The ice cream social and "Corn Hole Toss" (if you are wondering look it up we had to) were a kick and everyone took part. It was just a great rally. Thanks for all the work by John & Benita Chappell, Ron & Linda Seitz rally hosts.

We met up with some old friends Lou and Pat Santoro, (Haven't see them in 40 years) They are from the 4 Corners unit and we are looking forward to seeing them down the road.

Having had a home in Steamboat for 20+ years it was nice to see some spots we hadn't in some time. Took a trip up to Fish Creek Falls! What a beautiful spot. Actually it is tough to find a spot in or around Steamboat that isn't beautiful!

This will be our last rally with DenCo this year but not our last stop!
In two weeks the Airstream and I area off to a "Colorado Roots Music Camp" for
some instruction on the guitar and mandolin and another outing with the new 31'. The 12th of Sept we head out with Ron and Janice Rockvam to Yosemite
them Alumafandango the Redwoods and Oregon Coast. Should be a great trip.

Until next time "Safe Travels"
Monty & Glenrose

Off to Alumafandango!

We are here at Alumafandango getting tons of information!
We came by way of Yosemite National Park and thought a few
pictures would tell the story for now.
