Also interactive maps.

Greg: thanks for the MT fishing site. Always helps to know where to go to find out important information. As a bit of information for those of us fly guys, I spent the last 2 days fishing the stretch between Hebgen and Earthquake and slaughtered them with a hopper dropper combo trailing with imitation orange egg pattern. Caught 20 today with largest around 6 lbs. Bows and cut bows all strong bucks with average in 18 to 20 inches. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This is our official 1st trip in the AS and throughly enjoying it, although not without it's little inconveniences. Traveling out of Ennis I took a road to see the river and when we arrived in West Fork noticed I must of thrown a rock and broke off fresh water petcock so all my fresh water drained out. Need to stop somewhere on the way back to CO to see about getting it fixed or at least the replacement

Isn't that what corks from wine bottles are for?

That's exactly what we did, I of course had to open and finish the entire bottle of 2007 Honig cab so I could use the cork. I felt much better and the cork closed the hole.

Next time you are in the West Yellowstone area, try and book a float down the Madison with The Bud Lilly Trout Shop, you will never forget it. They float from Varney Bridge to Ennis and it is unforgetable. Ask for the shore lunch instead of the bag lunch. I was a guide for them back in the 1970's and that float never got boring even after 76 floats.

Pap:

I was in the Bud Lilly shop yesterday picking up some essential flys and stuff. I will look at the float trip with them next time around as the rivers are running a bit high at the moment.

Sounds great. I often enjoy sitting back and relaxing with a cigar and beverage.

The very best time to float the Madison is around the last week of June through the first 2 weeks of July. Depending on the water temp, the salmon fly hatch comes on and it is unbelievable.
