Of course, we're getting into Wisconsin, here, but if you do visit Bayfield (Apostle Islands area) there are several campgrounds to choose from. There is one commercial campground in Bayfield, Apostle Islands Area Campground, I believe it is called, but we did not find it inviting when we stayed there. It is for sale and I think the owners are tired of running a campground. Hostile signage all over the place.
If you want to stay in the Bayfield area I highly recommend both of the Washburn municipal campgrounds, located a few miles down the road in Washburn. Washburn Wisconsin - Camping Facilities
Both of them are right on Lake Superior, with their own beaches. 30/50 A electric hookup sites for only $22 a night, campground equipped with water, restrooms with showers, and dump station.
