Looks like it started in the engine compartment.
This is why I carry a second much larger fire extinguisher in my trailer and another large one in my truck.

In a fire like that it's best to just get out and as far away as you can and let it burn rather than to try to put it out. I don't think there is enough fire extinguishers in any given state to put out a fire like that. I really hope everyone got out without injury.

Personally, I thought the music was in poor taste.

You can go to Kidde and have them install fire detection loops, fire computer, and auto discharge bottles. Cost around $100,000. for an airplane.

We saw a mo/ho on fire in Montana; we were behind them but could not get enough speed
to warn them. Finally, a gutsy woman rancher pulled in front on them and locked her
brakes; they barely got out.

The point at which the driver's side window blew out was when "flashover" occurred; the entire interior is hot enough to explode into flames at the same time.

MH Fire

This is why you need an automated system for the engine compartment on a motorhome.

the posts below the video explain the response of the fire dept - 15 miles away, all volunteer dept.

the moho was also "loaded" with ammunition (according to the video poster). i wonder if all those cars who drove by before the police arrived would have done so had they known that?

the video only runs about 4 minutes before the fire department arrived. that would be good time even in a populated setting.

The best that I can tell the fire took place on US 2, Stevens Pass, Washington. About 30 miles east of my home. The nearest town is about that 30 miles, so I don't imagine that fire response could have been quick at all.

A horrible situation that hopefully the occupants were able to escape.

Scary. Right after I bought my motorhome I discovered some idiotic wiring by our buddies at Airstream (at least, I assume that's who did it - it was on some fog lights that were normally installed by Airstream). Briefly, the switch for the fogs was illuminated, and the fuse for the fog lights was electrically after the switch...so when the switch broke and shorted out, it connected the coach battery to ground, through an unfused 16 gauge wire. I discovered this by noticing the wire was very warm. Bad wiring in a vehicle MEANT to be slept in? I've been on the lookout for similar idiocy ever since.

Ordinary small arms ammunition is not much of a hazard in a fire. Rounds will "cook off", but contrary to cartoons, bullets don't go flying in every direction. The LP gas tanks and vehicle fuel tanks are a greater concern.
