Memorial Day Travel Plans?

Just wondering what everyone is planning to do this weekend??? I'm looking forward to putting my feet up on the screened-in porch at our camp and watching the sun go down! I've always avoided travel on the Memorial Day weekend - but I know that, for most, it's an annual rite to hook up the camper and go!!! Have a great and safe weekend - but never forget the sacrifices of all those who fought to keep this country free!

Cracker,

I'm with you on not traveling on Memorial weekend. But we just finished our refirb on our AS. This will be it's third trip this year. So for weekend we are staying some what close to the house and going to a place called Rollins Lake near Grass Valley.

Every one have a great and safe weekend.

I am with the both of you! We are on the road now, and are parked in Alamogordo, NM. We plan to stay put until after the holday and enjoy the comings and goings in the park and watch the numerous Stealth bombers flying over all day.

Have a great holiday!

Staying home, plans constantly in flux. It's hell to be broke and hired out. Just another of life's great injustices, you can pick your friends, but not your family.

We're heading off to Lake Wedowee this weekend; time to relax
and recharge.....and watch a few sunsets as well.
Like Cracker said, may we remember those who sacrificed that we
may continue to enjoy the liberties and freedoms that are sometimes taken
for granted.

We traveled to Bloomsburg, PA for the Region 2 rally yesterday (5 hour drive). Right now, we're sitting at the Mann Center in Philadelphia waiting for our daughter to arrive to go to a Damien Rice concert (3 hour drive-the scenic route). It's her birthday! Then, after the concert, back to Bloomsburg (3 more hours drive) for two more days (150+ Airstreams are expected!). Then on Sunday/Monday, it's back to Delaware (5 hours drive).

I'll be glad to get back to work.

I went up in the hllls today and got a load of firewood. I will "hide out" in my barn for the next three days and work on the Safari. I catered to campers for over 30 years, so I try to avoid them now. Then back into the hills on Tuesday for some more wood------must keep the barn warm because I might be working on the trailer all winter, too.

I guess it's no surprise what we'll be doing this weekend. In addition to all the festivities up at the Vets' Memorial, the resort is hosting a major bicycle event (gazillions of tenters) along with a Kansas City Barbecue cookoff. Our only hope is that we'll be able to escape for a bit, if only one of us at a time, to try some of the barbecue!

I am being dragged to a BLM area North of Ocala for the weekend for my second camping trip since my accident, and my second camping trip in two weeks. The toilet leaks, there's no floor covering, junk galore inside the trailer. Should be a fun time, maybe I can con the neighbors into helping put in the carpet while we are there...

Head'n out tomorrow after work to Indian Point, a Corp campgroud on Table Rock Lake near Branson, Mo. It will be packed, but I always enjoy that weekend because of all the different campers and rigs to see. Coming back Monday, work thru Thursday, and then head out with nine other rigs to Gettsburg, Pa. on Friday for a little 10-day trip.

Hi All,
Saturday we are heading to Cape May, NJ for an inlaw/outlaw family "yard sale". Have a station wagon and a regular sedan filled with crap - I mean antiqueties and fine crafts - for the sale. Sunday is the antique car club annual car show in Kimberton, PA and Monday is the Kennett Square, PA Memorial Day parade where we will be driving our WWII red cross medic jeep. (Ok, it's a 1948 CJ-2A made to look like a WWII jeep - most of the spectaters won't know the difference as we zip by at 2 to 3 MPH!) God Bless all who fought - our veterans and also our current troops - making this country the greatest place to be in the world (even if I have to put up with that a** Rosie O'Donnell). Sorry, I don't know what came over me - won't happen again. Have a safe weekend.

Just got done dewinterizing the Safari. I'm taking it down to the Louisville area tomorrow.

Topped off the burb...had about 1/4 tank, so 3/4 of a tank (a 39 gallon tank) cost me just shy of $107!

Great looking rig klattu...

We will be thinking of all our AS friends and all our military who have served in the past, or are serving now while we continue to work on our own "escape vehicle". Trying to finish up water lines and install new cook top; then there's the cabinet doors in the bathroom, and the rest of the tile, and a new kitchen cabinet, and the lights over the bed, and.... well, you get the picture....

Have a great holiday.

Shoot...
I'm never 'ready' to go camping...something always dragging behind schedule.
Always a list, and few get dropped of.
Many get done/finished at the campsite!
Duck tape starts coming out as D-day approaches (departure day)
I work much more efficiently under pressure.
