I just checked the extended weekend weather forecast for New England and it looks great! There will lots of warm sunshine (in the 70's - 80's) with a chance of spotty thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday. Not bad considering how awful it was last year at this same time.

Everyone drive safe!

We are in a drought here, afternoon showers are the norm on the beach in Florida though.
Gulf water temp is just right for cooling off, will be bath water hot by July.

Started out as WW...changed just a little.
Going with a WWII nose art kinda theam.

My Dad flew in a B-24 during that war. He has some cool stories to tell.

Nice job on the MH artwork!

Taking my German foreign exchange student camping for the first time - north shore of Lake Superior. Will hike the trails along the rivers/waterfalls.

260 miles each way * 2 / 12 mpg = 43 gal * $3.30/gal = $142, gulp!

For my wife and I baking in Southern AZ right now, it's off to the White Mountains for the weekend. Rig is hitched, loaded, and ready to roll. As soon as we clean up from a quick bite, its time to get out of town For all you folks staying home, plenty of time to sit around and rest when your dead!

Heading down to St. George Island, FL. Hoping the winds will be out of the west to blow the smoke from the wildfires out to the Atlantic and not over onto the Gulf.

Wishing you all a happy Memorial Day Weekend and remembering all those who have and are serving this great country of ours and especially those whose sacrifices have kept freedom alive in this country. May God bless.

Heading for the TT on Friday afternoon. Its at an AS exclusive campground/resort about 12 miles from the house. Plan on playing some golf, a dip in the pool, music at the campfire. Just some general R&R.

As soon as I get through trying to selling some of these beautiful silver trailers that we are all so NUTS about today, I am going home to my recently finished outdoor kitchen and fire pit area by our pool and not be seen again until Tuesday!!!

I have just finished this project which I took on myself with a little help from my beautiful wife...complete with grill, refer, storage cabinet, and sink, I Love This Thing!!!

The only concern I have this weekend will be what to drink my wine from...glass or plastic...the topic of another recent thread!

Here are a few pics

Have a great weekend everyone and be safe!

Trip cancelled

Great news! We had a boondock trip planned with some great friends but had to cancel.

Our son is coming home on leave! Out of his 10 day leave we'll probably see him for two days. He'll be out chasing whatever it is young men chase.

Unfortunately after his leave he will be redeploying to Northern Iraq. We won't get to see him for eighteen months.

We took a short trip to campground close to home for our First Camping Trip!! YEAH!! Had a great time. Nice campground. Stayed 2 nights. The grandaughter decided she wanted to live there. It was her first ever camping experience. I think it was the pool that won her over. Here are a few pictures.

I traveled out to the side yard to wash the Argosy in preparation for sanding and painting. The fun never stops on holidays in Oklahoma. Actually, I can't think of many things that are more enjoyable than working on my Argosy.

I haven't made it to my camp yet. Yesterday I decided that, since it was 94 deg out, it was time to open up the pool for the summer. The first problem was that the O-ring on the chlorine dispenser broke into 3 pieces. Next the tubes from the dispenser refused to seal - followed by an air leak on the pickup line from the skimmer. I got a face full of chlorine gas trying to fix things - and, to top it off, the pool supply house closed at 1:00 P.M! I managed a "work-around" of all of the problems and called it a day with a long drink and a shower. Tommorrow's another day - and I'm headed for the camp. The pool can wait! I hope everyone is having a great memorial day weekend!

Memorial Weekend

We are spending a long weekend at Virginia Highland Haven. I agree that we should remember with tremendous gratitude those who have served and are currently serving in the military to protect our freedom. I'm afraid there are far to many Americans who don't undertand that freedom is like an insurance policy, you have to continue to pay the premiums.

Very well said. I think about my father and my two uncles who were in WWII on this Memorial Day. Things were simpler then. We knew the face of evil and were allowed to destroy it.
