Maiden Voyage

Upon picking up my 61 Bambi the previous owner was walking me about pointing to this and that and after reading Airstream newbies I figured I had this covered. So with a big wave off I went.
I drove to Winter's Island for my maiden voyage. Beautiful weather, great neighbors and unleashed excitement. My best friend Donna and I went down to the water's edge where I took off my sneaks and put my keys in them. We sat on the rocks and counted our blessings when we noticed the tide was coming in and my sneaks were sailing off. Did I bring the keys down with me? No I must of dropped them while walking down. The search began. Everywhere, every place was turned over. We had to pull the screen out and crawl in. Then it was the VW dealers telling me it was going to take 4 days to have a key made. Where did the days go that you could go to your hardware store and have 2 made in 5 minutes.
Donna had made up her mind she was going to find them and by keepers she did! Don't get your hopes up said the parts manager at VW the salt water probably corroded the fob. Omg The uber I had hired was quickly becoming a family member. With a new battery for the fob the car turned over and we cried as if someone just had a baby. To be cont.

Welcome, congrats, and omgosh. Thank goodness you did not lose trailer keys. Where is Winter Island, sounds like pretty place to camp?
