great trip
Well, we got home around 7pm and had a wonderful trip. NO problems at all!! The truck pulled the TW very well, but it did have to work some on the hills. It didnt have any problems keeping the speed limit. We saw an AS on 81 just south of Harrisburg, it was going North. We had rain almost the entire trip down, and set up in the dark and rain. There was only 1 other site in use at the state park, it had 2 SOB trailers there (2 families) .The park is BRAND NEW, it opened July 15. very nice, almost too manicured for us, but it was clean, quiet, and had 15 miles of hiking trails, we hiked 75%. The thing that bothered me the most was the stop/ do not enter signs on each camp "street" they were regular DOT highway signs, and looked awful! A stat park might need those on main roads, but wooden carved signs would be more fitting. I also noticed that the park had Park Police, not park Rangers patroling, seemed overkill to have 3 on duty in a park with 3 campers. JMO. I'll post some pics tomorrow. We saw a 69 AS in a lot in Front Royal, did not have time to check it out. We used the stove, lights and oven (pork roast with root veggies!)all worked well. Fridge worked on LP and elect. and should have, it's new. All in all we learned some things, made a list on needs/improvements, and are looking forward to our next AS journey. MPJ

Sounds like you had a great first trip. You will learn something about how to do it better each time you go out.
Travel safe,
Maggie

Congratulations on your first trip. I am looking forward to mine next year spring (Hopefully, new axles before I can go). It sounded like great fun and a great trip. May you have many more.
