We are planning to go to the WNC Barbeque Festival in September in Maggie Valley and want to make some reservations. I would appreciate a recommendation on a nice campground there if anyone has been.
My son's in laws have a campground in rutherfordton NC, about 40 miles from where you want to be. It is Rivercreek campground. Check out thier websight rivercreekcampground.com. It really is nice and tell them Scott's parents sent you.

Maggie Valley has some nice campgrounds. The ones on the main road all seem to have smaller sites. I have camped with a 34 footer and have been less than pleased with some of the accommodations. Creekwood Farm RV Park is located off I-40 at exit 20. They are a few miles from Maggie Valley, but offer large level sites for larger RV's. Look for their listing in Waynesville, NC.
We stayed at Creekwood Farms when we went to pick up the "new" Airstream a year ago. Very nice place, friendly folks too! I would definitely stay there again.
