Well, not wanting bore you, it was another good Moosing day here in the Bighorn National Forest. We had about a dozen sightings today. Some were at a distance, but others were close up. The temperature today was in the 70's.

Here are some of the better photos of the day, including a closeup that SuEllyn got of a Marmot. These little guys are hard to catch on film. There is also photo of a solitary Olivia against a snowy mountain backdrop.

It rained here in Buffalo most of the day. This morning, we walked up to Subway to try their new breakfast. On the way, in the truck stop, we noticed a vintage Airstream resting in the parking lot. I has brought my small camera so I was able snap a couple of pictures.

Since it was raining, we took a run over to Sheridan and made the rounds of Wal-Mart and Home Depot.

Hopefully, this weather will clear tomorrow.

Looks like isolated thunderstorms today, sunny tomorrow, then more showers Tuesday. Seems you are in the tropics except for the temps. We passed Moose Lake, BC, yesterday, but no mooses. We'll keep looking.

The added weight of that spare tire on that well worn Tradewind in Buffalo is a recipe for rear end separation.

Hope you get some good weather.

SuEllyn,
Brian gave you credit for the marmot shot...great photo! I lived in Cody when I first moved to Wyoming. I went to the Big Horns with a Cody friend who called these 'Whistle Pigs'. I stood beside a stream a few years ago and watched a family of Marmots play in the rocks for 2 hours. They are fascinating! Took them about 20 minutes to get used to me being there without threatening them before they felt comfortable enough to just do what they do. I was catching fish along that stretch of the stream and they got within 20 ft of me at one point. Wish I had taken my camera!

Atv

For those of you all that are wondering about the ATV.The tracks are made by a company that has been out for years. They build these for your vehicle also and are used for many things.I had seen these many years ago when they had put a set on a VW Touareg.
A very impressive track system.

Welcome to MATTRACKS rubber track conversions systems for 4x4 vehicles

I am not trying to change the subject on this but just letting you know what they are.

We will be camping at a great spot near Ten Sleep next weekend. Will you still be around?

Have you been to Jackson County in north central Colorado. The area is also called North Park. The county seat is Walden. They transplanted moose there years ago and they have thrived.

The weather may be better there.

Gene,

we are planning to head that way on Tuesday or Wednesday. Walden is billed as the "moose Capital" of Colorado. We are planning on camping in Larmie, and moosing in the Walden area from there.

We're still in Buffalo. We spent the day out in the Forest. We had about 10 Moose sightings. There are a lot more people in the forest for Memorial Day Weekend.

We came back to town early and relaxed around Lucy.

A newer member, but would be interested in the interest in the moose. Your Avatar suggests a interest in Moose. But seems to be more than that.
Also, love your pics and commentary about your trip
