That may be the exact same truck I passed on I-20 just east of Vicksburg! He had to slow waaayyy down from Edwards to the Big Black river, the concrete sections of I-20 have moved and caused the pole so start whipping and flexing.

As an aside I noticed my favorite computer helper web site on the side of Lucy! I LOVE my Moosetags. I have one on each end of the bazillion things running into the back of my computer. I also tagged the power cords. My computer geek friend was most impressed
Thank you for the Texas update!

We also use the sailing rudder, but not the Turbo Fins. We kayak a lot in shallow water. Even the rudder has to be leveled out quite a bit.
We are also paranoid about securely lashing the kayak to the TV. We use ratcheted bow and stern lines, straps through each Hullavator unit, and a ratcheting cable lock. Violet (the kayak) has about 20,000 miles on top of Daisy and Olivia (our tow Suburbans) without the slightest shift of position.
Here are a couple of photos of the rigging.

We spent last night at the KOA in Abilene, Texas. Nice CG and great local chicken dinner place, Belle's, right up the street.
This morning we broke camp and headed out toward Roswell, New Mexico. We had a nice drive US 380 into New Mexico. We arrived at the Red Barn CG in Roswell at about 5 o'clock. This is a rally nice family CG with only 15 camp sites. They 5 point hook ups, so we're happy. We rode around Roswell a bit before dark.

If you are going North on I-5 to Oregon you will pass thru the Lake Shasta area which is beautiful. Worth a stop.

I thought I had missed your thread! Glad I was able to find it this morning while goofing off. Got to get my head back down though. Anyway, thanks for posting your adventures and photos to share with those of us that are tied down. I have begun a blog of our trips, but haven't got it caught up yet. When I do, I'll post the address in my signature line.
Again thanks for sharing your trip with us.

If you are driving on SR101 in Santa Barbara, and your GPS tells you to get off 101 and take SR154, don't do it. It may be a lot shorter, but it's murder when towing a trailer. Ask me how I know this...

They are these cool orange plastic cable labels that have a surface that is easy to write on that you can label your plugs and cords. I used to have to run my hand down the cables from my computer to the plug/external equipment. I put labels on both ends.

We're settled in to the Red Barn CG here in Roswell. It's really a nice place. It's really cute and clean and has 5 point hook ups. Lucy's dinette window overlooks a field of alfalfa.
We spent the day in Roswell doing the tourist thing. We went to the UFO museum. It was really pretty cool.
We went by Wal-Mart and got microwave hamburgers to take back to Lucy. We will be dining large tonight right on the alfalfa field.

WE just stayed at campers village. Very good location to the Grand Canyon. Also stay close to office for internet. Not sure what issues others had. It was fine and very convenient when inside the GC is overfull.

If you want to stay in the GC itself book early. We thought we would have no problem 2 weeks ago during the week and there was not a space to be ihad in GC. In Williams a good 40 min. south Grand Canyon Motel and RV is very nice and Xanterra runs the huge train operations and RAilway rv. We felt lucky we did not have to go all the way or 1/2 way back to Williams for the night. Campers had lots of room and the Park rangers sent us there.

We're still in Roswell tonight. We extended after the campground owner comped us a night for assisting her to set up her wifi to reach all of the sites.
We spent the day touring Roswell. We went to the City Zoo. It was really neat and free. We also went to the City Museum in a 1906 mansion that has its original fixtures and furnishings.
We are back at Lucy getting things ready to head out in the morning. We're planning on going as far as Lordsburg, New Mexico tomorrow and hit the KOA there.

Brian, thanks for the update. I hope you can fix the wifi at many more campgrounds.
That lighted "statue" at the bottom of the bannister is pretty amazing. The house looks post Victorian, so I wonder why they had a Victorian decoration like that.
