Not a bad idea to turn water off during the day if you are not at the campsite. Jim

I'm sure it's been asked before, but I'm curious. Ethel seems a little redundant. Wouldn't you have two kitchens, two baths, two master bedrooms, etc..
Or, have you emptied her out and have a Harley parked in it? Just kidding, but it seems like a lot of extra weight to haul around. I know there's been a time or two when I've snored so loud, my wife would have liked to have sent me outside, anywhere..

Moose tags likes to go off grid and leave the trailer and take the truck camper where towing a trailer is not possible. AS as base camp with the ability to stay in the wild for a day or two with the truck camper where the trailer cannot go. Hope I'm correct. Jim

Enjoy your blog. Your rig looks nice all shined up. Great shots of the full moon. One question, exactly what are these moose tags you're mailing?

Lucy broke camp in Dickinson this morning, and we headed west into Montana. It was only about 50 miles to the Montana state line. The highway scenery was pretty nice, and we went through several of the small towns along the way.

As the day progressed, it got warmer and warmer, eventually reaching 97 degrees. We decided to call it an early day, and stopped for the night at Big Sky Campground in Miles City, Montana. We had dinner in town and have settled in for the night. The sun has just set here, and the temperature is down to 94.

We have always made it a habit to turn off the water to Lucy (city or pump) whenever we leave the Airstream.

We sometimes leave Lucy in a campground and take Fred and Ethel into the back country and spend the night in Ethel. We acquired Ethel for this purpose.Other times I like to say that we travel with two bedrooms, two baths and a beer fridge.

We packed up in Miles City this morning and continued west through Montana. We stopped along the way to see Pompey's Pillar National Monument between Miles City and Billings. Pompey's Pillar is a sandstone rock formation along the Yellowstone River 150 feet tall. In 1806 William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition climbed this rock formation and carved his name in the sandstone, along with the date that the Expedition passed this way, July 25, 1806.

We continued on to Billings and toured the downtown area. We had lunch at the Club, Sam's Club that is. We got Fred a fill-up of Diesel at Sam's and continued on our way. We arrived in Livingston, Montana around 6:00 PM. We got Lucy a campsite, unhooked and headed out to take a look around Livingston. It's a nice little town with many historical buildings. The Livingston Campground, where we are camped for the night, is kind of dingy and had the hallmarks of being a "fugitive acres campground". It was the best price in town.

Hi, I find it amazing that our national monuments must be protected from some idiot defacing them. I saw a petroglyph that was tagged by some idiot and had to be covered with a plastic sheet to protect the rest of it including what the idiot did.

Hi, I don't think we have ever been in a city that didn't have a Chinese Restaurant, no matter how small or out of the way it was.

Love the pictures.

Montana is one of our very most favorite states.

Ummm, what means "fugitive acres"? Is it as obvious as it seems.....people on the lam from the law?

Cool your in Livingston. Our relatives in Laurel, Mt. used to joke that the snow fall in Livingston is measured on the side of the fencepost because of the wind.
Great pictures! - makes me itchy to get back out there.
