If not, your insurance may cover it? Good luck, just a little bump in the road! Jim

RE: "Then we even visited George, Washington. Yes, there is such a town!"

Funny! As a 49ers fan my personal favorite is Joe, Montana.

If you are within striking distance of Spokane (and I think you are) and this is an AS-specific issue, you can probably get help from the AS dealer there. Word on the forum here is they are very helpful. Best of luck getting a quick fix!

Thanks for the tip about the AS Dealer in Spokane. Moses Lake is about 100 west of Spokane. Hensley has sent us a new head unit. We're already tracking the shipment with UPS. It should arrive here on Friday.

Well, we think that we have Lucy's hitch problem solved. The manufacturer in Michigan is sending us a new control unit to replace the one that has broken. It is already on the way here via UPS, and is scheduled to arrive on Friday.

Meanwhile, we are making the best of our situation, and visiting towns in this part of Washington. Today we took in Wenatchee, Leavenworth, and Ellenburg.

Wenatchee is actually a small city about the size of Panama City, Florida. Leavenworth and Ellenburg are smaller towns, but were also interesting to tour.

We stopped and got a pizza for supper and brought it back to Lucy.

We were actually up this morning before the crack of dawn. We know it's hard to believe, but we were out in Fred and Ethel at 5:30 AM!!!!! We were on our way to a meeting with a Washington Fish and Wildlife Officer who had offered to show us the capture and electronic tagging of salmon coming upstream on the Wenatchee River. SuEllyn had met the Ranger yesterday, and he had told her that he would be tagging fish early this morning, and that he would show us the process.

We met him at the fish capture facility at the Tumwater Dam near Leavenworth, Washington. He captured about 30 Salmon and several Steelhead Trout. Some of these Salmon weighed about 30#. The electronic tagging is done with a small device that is about the size of a grain of rice. It was very interesting to observe this process.

As we were finished quite early, we decided to head up to Grand Coulee Dam. We got up to the Dam around noon and spent several hours going through the Visitors' Center and the town of Grand Coulee.

We got back to Lucy just before dark.

No, we did not. We decided that the Visitors' Center information was sufficient. All that the official tour was comprised of was was a jitney ride across the top of the dam.

Sorry, that was a bad joke of mine I pull out of the closet of shame when people mention visiting a dam.

Today was a day off from vacationing. For starters we had to extend our stay at the Campground here in Moses Lake. This was no small task as we are closing in on the Labor Day Weekend, and the campground was pretty booked. The campground owner was most cooperative and worked a few things around so that Lucy could stay on her site through the weekend.

Early this afternoon we went into town and got some Moose Tags shipments off at the Post Office. We stopped at a roadside corn stand and got some sweet corn. It is corn harvest time here, and we were told by locals that some of the sweetest corn in the world is grown here. We were even directed to a specific corn stand from a particular local farm. The young man at the corn stand was very cordial and gave us each a sample of his corn. Even uncooked, it was the sweetest corn that we had ever had. We bought some to have tonight.

We then headed over to the local Chevrolet Dealer here in Moses Lake. The Service Manager was very helpful as we were just passing through. He took Fred right in for an oil and fuel filter change. They also topped off his Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Fred is now ready for the rest of our journey.

We stopped on the way back to Lucy and got some rotisserie chicken to go with corn. When we got home, we had a really nice supper of chicken and very sweet corn.

Today was a little short on pictures, so we have included a few from yesterday.

Lucy is still camped at Moses Lake, Washington. Her hitch parts are due here tomorrow. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

We decided to take a drive down to Yakima, Washington today. On the way we visited the Moses Lake Sand Dunes Recreation Area. People are already staking out camp sites for the big Labor Day Weekend. From there we headed down through the Washington countryside to Othello, Pasco, and Kennewick. We stopped briefly and looked around each of these towns before heading west to Yakima.

We got over to Yakima at about 6:00 PM. We toured around Yakima for about an hour before heading back to Lucy.

We got back to the campground right as it got dark.

Today was another day off from vacationing. Lucy's new hitch arrived. The UPS man showed up right at noon. He had our 98 pound box containing Lucy's replacement hitch. We spent most of the rest of the day getting the old hitch removed and the new hitch installed. It took us until about 5:00 PM to complete the job. The new hitch required set-up and greasing. Fortunately, we carry a grease gun and all the necessary tools with us on the road. We haven't given it a rest run yet, but all seems ready to go.

We plan to head out of here tomorrow if we can find a campground up the road as we are now in the middle of the Labor Day Weekend.

After the hitch installation, we decided that deli food from the local supermarket was in order. We had supper in Lucy and watched a fantastic sunset.

As we had a stay-at-home day, we have posted some pictures from earlier.
