Lucy hits 1,000!
Tonight will be the 999th night that we have spent in our dear Lucy. Lucy is a 2005 Safari 25FB that we purchased new in 2006. We took delivery of Lucy on June 1st, 2006. We were new to RVing, and got all of our formal training right here on these Forums. We decided from the beginning that we would keep a "Lucy Log" of all of her travels and activities. We have towed Lucy almost 90,000 miles and have had her in all of the lower 48 states.
We are currently in the middle of a grand tour of Florida. Lucy is camped at a small campground here in Big Pine Key, Florida, which is at Mile Marker 30 on US 1. We departed Santa Rosa Beach on February 11th, and have made camping stops in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and here in the Keys. By the time we get home, we will have covered almost 2,000 miles without leaving Florida.
Thus far, our trip has been devoted to visiting various relatives along the route. This next five days will be about exploring the Florida Keys. We feel that it is most appropriate for Lucy's 1,000 night of service to be here in the Keys, relaxing in the sun in the 80 degree temperatures.
Tomorrow night will be the big night. We thought it would be nice to just have a quiet celebratory dinner here in Lucy with a nice bottle of wine.
Here are a few pictures from Lucy's Florida Tour so far.
Brian

Its great to see you enjoy and use your Airstream so much! Congrats on your 1000 nights.
Its also great to see the Airstream has what it takes to roll 90,000 miles and hold together. I don't think thats a given with just any RV.
Hopefully you'll post about your 2000 nights in another six years.

Brian, nice fiberglass meeses in your 6th picture! How do the Florida campgrounds supply water without running antifreeze through the pipes first? The crux of winter camping I guess... double-
Your avid camping schedule speaks more for this accomplishment than the fact that you have the earliest 25' FB that I know of. Congratulations to Lucy, SuEllyn and you on this milestone.

Congratulations. I don't know if we'll ever catch up to you.
What is the building with the pink domes?
At 90,000 miles, how are the axles holding up? I seem to remember something about your axles, but it is a blur.
I always enjoy following your travels and for now, it is a substitute. I hope we can travel a bit this year.

No Gene, we have never had an issue with Lucy's axles. Tires were her Achilles heel. We think that we have solved that with the 16" LT's.
The Moorish Revival architecture building is the City Hall in Opa-Locka, Florida. Opa-Locka was conceived and developed by Aviation Pioneer Glenn Curtis in 1926. Here are a couple of more Opa-Locka photos. The one of the sign in the park really got our attention.
I'm glad you are enjoying Lucy's adventures. I hope that you, too, can be out there soon.

I was raised in Miami in the 1950's. I remember my father taking me to Opa-Locka to see the buildings when I was about 10 years old. I wanted to see if they were still in existence.
