It seems like you have seen more moose in the last few days than you did on your entire trip last year.

Our Moosing trip to Maine last fall was not real good. Last sping here in Wyoming was good, but not as good as this year. There are actually more Mooses in Maine than in Wyoming. Were hoping that our next Maine trip will be better.

Be careful, don't get over-moosed.
Have you thought of going to Newfoundland? 120,000 moose.

OK I'll bite. I haven't read all the replies to this thread & if I am repeating something someone already said I deeply apologize...
But when I saw the title of the thread, "Lucy has escaped" my first thought was, "Someone's got some 'splaining to do!"

That's way too many, Gene. There would be no challenge.

Once again, we were on Moose patrol in the Bighorn National Forest. We had 15 Moose sightings. We got some good pictures some of which you will find below.
We came down off the mountain a little early. We wanted to do a couple of things to prepare Lucy for departure from Buffalo on Sunday. Lucy will start making her way back to Florida on Sunday morning.

What will be your route going home? I suggest stopping at Devils Tower. There are some nice hiking paths there and the KOA shows a movie every night outside in view of the tower. Guess what movie?

OK, I give up. What movie???
Thanks for the tip. We have been to devils Tower a couple of times, and need to bypass it this trip as we need to stop in Denver to make some changes to the truck camper. Then we need to head for Jacksonville so that we can see SuEllyn's Dad for Fathers Day.

I don't want you to go home. I want to keep following you.
In photo #1, the moose has a white patch above her rear leg. I was wondering what that was. On photo #2, it appears there is a bird above and a little ahead of the moose.
There aren't many roads in Newfoundland, but there are a lot of bogs, lakes and trees, so it would still be a challenge.

I believe the white patch that you are seeing on her side is a scar where the is no hair growing. The Mooses here in Wyoming are shedding their winter coats now, so some are looking a little mangy.
In the other photo, I think that is a piece of trash that has blown into one of the small willow bushes.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
They play that outdoors on the deck every night. The film features Devils Tower. Awesome.

The Moose Hunt Concludes
Lucy is still in her place at the Indian Campground in Buffalo, Wyoming. We spent the morning organizing things to get Lucy ready for departure. We reorganized all the gear in the back of Olivia to get her ready.
We headed out to the Moosing grounds late this afternoon. We had 14 Moose sightings including a Mom Moose with her little guy. Mooses are usually born during the month of May. It is somewhat rare to see baby Mooses as their Moms usually keep them in hiding.
We tallied the numbers, and we have had a total of 116 Moose sightings during our six days in the Forest. That's a pretty good week of Moosing. It was time to leave the Forest and say farewell to the Mooses for now.
We headed back into town where we got Olivia a good bath as she was covered with dirt and mud from her dirt road travels. When we got back to Lucy, we did some further trip preps. We are targeting getting underway substantially earlier than our usual crack of noon tomorrow.

I have been trying to figure out what the structure is next to SuEllyn in the photo where she is standing on what looks like an old earthen dam. My first thought was a flume providing water, perhaps to a mine building.

Gene,
That is an old earthen dam that was supported by the timbers. You are correct. It is part of an old tie flume system. Here is a photo of the sign at end of the old dam.
