Hang in there and don't lose your determination to get out there. This has been the best time of our lives.

Let me think on the mapping thing, and see what I can come up with.

The great thing about being in the Florida Panhandle is that we can use Lucy all year round. Fred and Ethel will get a rest while we tow Lucy through the winter with Olivia (our beloved 2005 Suburban). Lucy stays hooked up in the alley as an extra guest room when we fill up the house.

I've really enjoyed following your adventures Brian. Looks like we missed you in Amarillo. I wish I had been closely following the thread as we were in Amarillo when you were. We were on our way from Waxahachie TX to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. We make Amarillo a regular stop on our way to the NW. Where in Amarillo did you stay if I may ask? We generally stop at the Amarillo RV Park and venture shortly up the road for dinner at the Big Texan. Touristy but generally good food.

Safe travels. I look forward to reading about the rest of your adventures.

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

We just spent one night in Amarillo on our way to Lubbock to visit friends. We stayed at Overnite RV Park, 900 South Lakeside Dr. - Amarillo, Texas 79118 (806) 373-1431. It was the best rate we could find in town. It was very nice with full 5 point hook-ups that worked.

It's about a mile from the Big Texan. The van from the Big Texan will even pick you up and bring you back to the campground which is very helpful if you plan to consume copious amounts of beer.

We didn't make it to the Big Texan this time, but have been there a number of times in the past. We always find it very entertaining.

Brian

Lucy made is back to Santa Rosa Beach late Thursday afternoon. She is now tucked away in the alley behind the house. The final leg from Hammond, Louisiana to home went smoothly.

It's good to be home. We were on the road for 81 days. Fred covered almost 13,000 miles, and Lucy was towed just over 8,000 miles.

Pictures:

- Mobile skyline.
- USS Alabama.
- Back in Florida.
- Fred and the Girls tucked in at home.
- Sunset at home.

Until next time.

Brian

Brian and Suellyn,
I've followed along on your travels and have enjoyed your postings and pics so much. You've shown us a sector of America that takes me back many, many decades! Too sad so much of a softer, gentler USA has disappeared.

My daughter and I discussed, just last night, just how our country...our culture, has changed...degraded...over the last one-two decades. I am rapidly closing in on 8 decades....and, my goodness...the changes I've witnessed over the years! I could not have imagined the degradation of our way of life...or that I would 'live it'!

I bought my 2015 Bambi 16' Sport this spring, but, have not ventured far out, yet. Your travels encourage me to shoot for "getting out there to ...go, see,do...the America that I love...while I still can"! Hopefully, next season!
Thank you for reminding all of us what we are missing! Evelyn.

There is no place like home. You and your family have had many good Airstream adventures this year. And like you said, in Florida you can Airstream all year long.

We learned a lot from your travel thread. I hope to follow you guys out again on your next travel adventure.

David

Thank you so much for sharing your trip!

We were on a 2100 mile virgin outing with our 25' FC the last month of your adventure and felt better knowing you 2 were only a forum post away for any questions.

Appreciated tagging along on your trip

I enjoyed following your trip on this forum. Happened across the Airstream forum by accident and picked out your posting because the title caught my eye as I too want to take a trip west one day towing an airstream. I was even more surprised to learn that you were also from the Santa Rosa Beach area. I plan retire in a couple months as does my fiancee and we are determined to get an Airstream and take a trip out west soon afterwards. As someone new to this I've learned a lot just by
following your posts and reading others. Maybe one day I'll get the opportunity to meet you and pick your brain in person. Thanks for sharing the trip commentary and picture - it makes me even more convinced that I need to do this.

81 days is a lot of days—we were gone 56 or 58 in 2010 and that was at my limit. After that I would have needed meds. So congratulations for staying sane in a tin box for more than 11 weeks. In trying to imagine your trip on a map, I have in my head a long, long piece of spaghetti all over the west. Glad we could meet. Waiting for the next excursion.
