Hi jay,

We have been to Parker a number of times. SuEllyn's cousin here in Lake Havasu City was born and raised in Parker. SuEllyn's Aunt and Uncle owned the furniture store in Parker for many years. They came here from Georgia in the 1930's.

Lucy is camped at Lake Havasu City, Arizona. We went out this morning and visited the London Bridge. Lake Havasu City bought the 1832 London Bridge in 1971, dismantled it stone by stone, brought it here, and reassembled it. It is a major tourist attraction. We crossed the Bridge and took some pictures.

We met with SuEllyn's cousin, Jim, and his wife, Carole, for lunch. We had a great visit. We went back to Jim and Carole's house to continue our visit. We came back to Lucy a little before dark and started breaking camp. We plan to head up to Las Vegas tomorrow.

Today's pictures include:

- Lake Havasu from Lucy's campground.
- 1832 London Bridge.
- Bridge roadway in Lake Havasu city.
- Original London Bridge Brass Sign.
- London Bridge Light.
- Lake Havasu City from across the Bridge.
- Lucy At her campsite in Lake Havasu City.

There have been many "London Bridge's" over the centuries. Lake Havasu has one, London has another, some of the real old ones made of wood burned down. Then they built them of stone. I guess it is better to have one than none. If the southwest drought continues you'll be able to drive across the river.

I hope you guys don't get too wild in Vegas. Will you cease posting there as things that happen there don't leave? You might even see a moose on the Strip.

Yes, we did stop in Seligman to hit the Post Office there with some Moose Tags. We saw the Snow Cap, but did not go by.

Hi Gene,

I will try to keep SuEllyn from getting out of hand while we are visiting Las Vegas. We will continue to post from Las Vegas as the information will only be disclosed to this small discreet group.

We will be on the lookout for that Moose,

Brian

Again, we missed that feature. Thanks for the tip. When we go back, we will be sure to check it out.

We broke camp in Lake Havasu City this morning. We headed up to I-40 where we headed west into California. We got off at US 95, and continued north into Nevada. We arrived in Las Vegas in mid afternoon. We got Lucy a nice campsite on the southeast side of town.

We ventured out and had a nice supper at the Sam's Town Casino near the campground. We went downtown to Fremont Street and partook of the activities there. It was really nice to see some of the historic casinos on Fremont Street. We stayed until after dark to see the lights come on. It was a really impressive sight.

We took a quick ride along the Las Vegas Boulevard Casino Strip before heading back to Lucy. we will be staying here several days to do more exploring.

Today's pictures include:

- Coming into Needles, California.
- Main Street, Needles.
- Needles Theatre.
- US 95 in the lonely California Desert.
- Joshua Tree near Searchlight, Neveada.
- The Las Vegas Stratosphere Tower.
- Entering Downtown Las Vegas.
- Las Vegans on their work on Fremont Street
- 1942 Pioneer Club Sign.
- The golden Nugget Casino.

I first saw Vegas in 1956 when my parents and an aunt and uncle visited. There was little on the Strip then, or it was only beginning. We stayed downtown too. We went to a casino and were wandering around looking and I was approached by a guard who asked how old I was. Seems you had to be 18 and I was not. I am proud to have been thrown out of a casino. Today I probably would have been arrested, but then my parents were told I had to leave and wait outside.

The sign with the cowboy was there in the 1950's and the excitement was all around Fremont St. I think we stayed at a motel called the Pair-O-Dice. There was a casino by that name since the 1930's where the Strip was
to become, but that name was changed in the early 1940's. Maybe someone built a motel downtown with that name later.

Lucy is still camped in Las Vegas. We spent the morning taking care of some bills and Moose Tags administrative duties. We went by the Post Office to ship some Moose Tags and SuEllyn decided to get a haircut.

This afternoon we did some more touring around Las Vegas. We rode the Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard. The traffic was very heavy, and slow moving. This gave us the opportunity to see more of the Strip. We continued Downtown Las Vegas and did some more looking around. On the way we passed at least a dozen Las Vegas Wedding Chapels.

We made a stop at Wal-Mart and got some supplies on the way back to Lucy. We had supper in Lucy and called it a day.

Today's pictures include:

- Lucy at the Campground.
- Traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- M&M Store on the Strip.
- Vegas Wedding Chapel.
- Limo with Nevada Tag, I DO 1.
- Chapel of the Flowers.
- Graceland Wedding Chapel.
- Fremont Street sign.
- AS to Go in Downtown Las Vegas.
- Dog park marker.

So here is a funny story. I was in Vegas in August staying at Mandaly Bay. I had a red eye flight back and was supposed to be a host of a webinar that afternoon after hotel checkout. I looked everywhere for a quiet place with good internet to use for the webinar. The hotel's business center was worthless since it had no doors and was right off hotel lobby with loud music piped in. I roamed the convention floors but they were full of people and music was playing everywhere. I was about to give up when I saw the hotel's wedding chapel. I stopped in after explaining my situation I got a strange look but the host agreed to let me use the chapel for my webinar. It helped that it was early Tuesday afternoon so not a peak demand time. Everything went smoothly although I did have a couple checking out the venue give a double take when they saw me talking into a laptop in the corner of the chapel.
This was my sixth or seventh visit to Vegas. I am always fascinated to see the changes and how the giant strip casinos are decorated. But they haven't gotten so expensive and crowded while downtown Vegas has been fixed up that I think next trip I'm staying downtown. I thought the Golden Nugget looked great after its renovation (I loved the glass lights) and I always like the victorian charm of Palace Station (guy who built it built Seville Quarter in Pensacola and Main Street station in Orlando. In all of them he uses antique pieces to make them look old. Palace station has a piece of the Berlin Wall behind the urinal in the men's restroom). Have a great rest of your trip.

Thank you for the nice story. We have also been here to Las Vegas several times. This time, we have noticed that the Strip is very crowded, and the traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard almost defies description. We are pleasantly surprised with how Fremont Street is looking.
