Looking for viable RV campsite in Mojave National Preserve

We are traveling (with the Airstream) out West in a few weeks, and would like to spend a few days of biking and (moderate) 4WD'ing around the Mojave National Preserve. Has anyone taken a ~30' Airstream into the Hole in the Wall campground? How about the roadside campsites near Sunrise Rock, off I-15 and Cima Road? How about any other semi-developed sites on the North or South edges of the park?

thanks much, Ed

We've done Hole In The Wall several times in March, and think it's a great place. My recollection is that a bunch of sites are suitable for long trailers, but not all of them. We have seen it fill up on a popular weekend, so with first-come, first-serve camping, we'd try to get there early on a week day.

The Preserve does allow boondocking, but asks that people use pre-hardened sites.

A really nice thing about the preserve for even moderate hikers are the varieties of cactus.
