Looking for So Cal spots to stay in the Airstream

HI everyone! We live in So CA and new to Airstreaming. We are looking for local places to stay that are "outdoorsy", or "foresty", but not in the mountains, if that makes sense. We are not looking for beach areas.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places like these if they exist?

Thanks all!

Are you OK with deserty? We've camped at Furnace Creek in Death Valley (winter only) and the Mojave National Preserve (up higher, spring is better) and enjoyed both of them. We also thought Joshua Tree National Park was beautiful although it is a bit too close to the cities for our taste. All of these are in southern California.

Welcome aboard! I live in Long Beach as well. We have a number of local favorites.

I'm happy to share - although not sure if it's better to do in the forum or via private message.

Let me know!
