Looking for nice RV park in So. California

In the fall, we plan a trip to L. A. area for a family thing. We'd like to park and leave the Airstream for up to a week or be in and out. Anyone familiar with nice, safe RV park within 50-75 miles of Pasadena? How about the National Forrest areas to the Northeast?

I haven't had any response, so I'm wondering if I have this posted wrong.

It just needed a thread bump. Lots of busy campers this past weekend so they may not have had a lot of down time for forums.

You do realize that Pasadena is in the middle of a large metropolitan area....not many campgrounds nearby. Lots of traffic, too, so a radius of 75 miles could mean a 3-hour drive. If you just want to park your rig, you might be able to work something out with Airstream Los Angeles, located in San Gabriel. We store our rig there. It's worth a try.

There are parks here and there and you are covering a large swath with 50-75 miles. Most of my trips are within that range and I'm going away for the weekend!

Can you give us a sense of your plans and what you hope to see/do? That might help narrow it down a bit better

Try Golden Shore RV in Long Beach. It is one of our favorite quick weekend getaways. Plus you can just hop on the 710fwy north to Pasadena.

I would second the vote for Golden Shore, seeing as I live a couple of blocks away :-)

We have stayed at a few RV Parks in the area.
Depending on what you plan to do and see while you visit.

I can recommend Huntington beach, (Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground), it is literally a parking lot right on the beach. However quite nice and centrally located, just a little pricy. Huntington Beach Camping - RV Campgrounds

Closer to Disneyland is (Anaheim Harbor RV Park). 2 minutes to Disney, 36 miles and 57 minutes to Pasadena. They do not have a limitation on the year of your RV like some RV Parks in the area. Very clean, and so close to Disneyland that you get fireworks everynight .

We also liked, (Orangeland RV Park) very much, Clean and quiet, the park used to be a citrus grove and you are welcomed to walk around and pick fresh oranges, grapefruit, etc. It is just across the creek from Angels Stadium if you want to plan a game or just around the corner from the Honda Center for concerts and other events. Yet still close enough to everything else.

Our plan is for our son to fly in and come pick us up (in a rental car) wherever we "land" our AS. We do NOT plan to pull the AS into the greater LA area. So if it's beyond the 50-75 mile range, it matters not. We'd like it to be to the east.

Ah - that helps. Just to the east of LA (about 30 mi to the east) is the KOA Pomona Fairplex campground. It's freeway close but not in a terribly interesting area. However, if you're just looking for a place to park it, that might work.

There are a number of state beach campgrounds in Orange County that are interesting and are more "campground" than "RV parking lot." You can check on Campgrounds and Camping Reservations - ReserveAmerica as these are easy to find, but often busy. They don't always have hookups, if that is of a concern.

The Orange County ones mentioned are good options - not too far from LA, good facilities, and near the Anaheim resort activities.

There is frank Bonelli regional park in San Dimas. We stayed there while visiting family in Monrovia and it is convenient to most of the Los Angeles area.
