Life is good moment

I was wondering what is the best part of camping for you. When you think to yourself...it doesn't get any better than this. For me it's a tie. 1 Having a cup of coffee in the morning watching the sun rise. 2 Kayaking on a peaseful lake watching birds fly overhead, and turtles rise from below for air. 3 Sitting next to a fire with a glass of wine at sunset. Sometimes I have to laugh to myself thinking this is a dream. Then I pinch myself to make sure it isn't. A picture is worth a thousand words. Articfox's campfire picture next to the airstream said it all without writing a word.

A warm camp fire shared with old and new friends. A morning walk with Misty the boarder terrier.

Seconding the kayak moment. Flatwater kayaking on a still lake in the early morning twilight, fish leaping out of the water to snag a tasty bug out of the air, eagles swooping to snag a tasty fish, and the aligators still torpid from the overnight chill and not terribly interested in taking a bite out of my boat.

Articfox's photo is in the June photo contest post 25. If I had the know how I would post it here as a example of a ''picture is worth a thousand words''

Coffee in the morning in Lucy, even if it's raining. I will even go out in the morning to have coffee with Lucy when she is parked behind the house.

yeah, coffee in the AS always smells better in the morning. I like the sitting by the campfire in the cool Fall evenings. Summer camping is fun, but Fall is my favorite time to camp.
Have a good one !

Waking up in the trailer on a nice morning and realizing that the only thing I really "have" to do is take the dog out for a walk and make a pot of coffee on the stove. Everything else is optional.

In the early spring sitting at the table with a hot cup of cinnamon flavored coffee, a danish and talking to the wife while watching big snow flakes falling from the sky.

In the fall sitting around a campfire with fellow campers having a hot cup of cider adulterated with either cinnamon or butterscotch schnapps.

Riding my recumbent trike up Going To The Sun road to the Birdwoman Falls overlook at Glacier National Park with a bunch of friends in early summer, just before the road opens to cars. That was an amazing wonderful experience that I'd love to repeat.

Sitting (it seems that my best moments involve sitting these days) by the rekindled fire from last nite, with a cup of steaming coffee, and the first cigar of the day, watching the sun come up, enjoying the peace and tranquility.

Sorry that I never thought of taking a picture of that moment.

Coffee..(good coffee!)...a rested wife (happy wife)...and an eager 6 year old ready to jump in the canoe for a day of whatever...and remembering back to how far I've come from raising my first set of kids as a single dad in tents, when we thought it was as good as it gets. These truly are the good old days. Jon

Where do I start?
It begins with planning and anticipating a trip. Then, it's the sunset, campfire, moon rising. Then it's cooking out for family and friends. I don't mind feeding the whole campground. I enjoy just being in the trailer. It is my happy place. I get up early to watch the sunrise over the lake. We enjoy visiting others in the campground. Fishing, exploring nature trails. There's no end to the enjoyment except coming home to go to work...
Camping. It's who I am and what I do.

Cozy in our trailer, listening to the rain on the roof, curled up with a good book and snoozing dogs at my feet - heaven!
