We have just bought a 16 Sport. We would like some feedback on the selection of leveling equipment out there on the market. Would appreciate your experience.

Welcome and congrats Big Air!

There are lots of threads on this topic and personally, I'm a fan of the Andersen leveler system. With a single axle you only need one and you can get exactly the amount you need up to 4"

Other options include "Legos" (not really - Lynx is one brand...but they look like big Legos :-) ).

Some use boards too stacked as needed.

Equipment ??? A couple of pieces of pressure treated 2x6 will work nicely and last many years.

We use those plastic interlocking risers (Legos?) available at RV supply stores. It's helpful to get a bunch that are the same kind, though as different manufacturers' risers don't necessarily interlock with one another. Boards are good, but we have had some crack and break with a lot of use.

We love our Andersen Levelers, they are incredibly easy to use and setup. And take up minimal space.

I am also a fan of the Andersen. Easy to use and faster than the Lynx.

I just bought the Anderson's given I have the tandem axels as in bold's photo - I have not tried em yet

But - with single axel you could get away with the Legos, wood, or Anderson's

I would get the Anderson's likely if I had it to do over but also like having Legos for other purposes - for tongue jack to rest on in soft ground including pavement - for letting stabilizers rest on with soft ground

It may be nice to have an Anderson and a set of the blocks?

When up on Legos though with a single axel - I'm unclear how you would chock the wheel properly - Anderson's take care of that...?

Pharm - check out Bold's pic in #5. The Andersen has 2 pieces. When you drive up on the leveler (1 piece) you place a wedge (2nd pice) under the gap. You basically have the tire sitting inside an arc with a"chock" effect fore and aft.

Yeah, the picture I posted, we drove all the way up on the Andersen levelers to tilt the Airstream towards a dump station.

The front pieces act as a chock. We just used them for 8 days at Vogel, these are so much easier than the blocks the PO gave us with the Airstream.

So if you're not that far up on the Andersens the other piece goes in front of the tire.

I use the Andersen's and also have some blocks. Blocks for the tongue jack and any campground where they want something under the stabilizers when you setup.

Also the Andersen's are working fine with the 2015 Classic and it's 16" wheels. There is just enough clearance to get the one Andersen between the tires and into position without needing to trim some of the end off of the Andersen. Andersen website says you can trim up to 4" off of the narrow end if you don't have enough clearance.

I have one of the BAL levelers from a previous smaller trailer. I think it will work on our single axle Bambi Sport 16 with its 14" wheels (which is what our previous trailer had). I haven't camped anywhere yet where I needed to level so have a couple boards just in case. Only downside of the BAL is it is heavy -- seems much more than the 14 pounds indicated by Amazon. I bought a 20"x20" pizza bag to carry it in -- fits perfectly.

i have had the plastic 'legos' crack on uneven surfaces. how do these Anderson levelers hold up to that kind of use?? looks like there are several reviews pointing out cracked product. any more experience here??

I have been using mine for almost a year on different surfaces. No indication of any cracking. I have never heard or read of any cracking.

Haven't had a problem yet and I've been on several uneven surfaces. Right now I'm in NY on a cracked and uneven drive way.

The only negative I have experienced is that one time I did have one jam between the wheels. Totally my fault as I moved to quickly and pushed it up. I now take it easy and make sure I stop and remove the chock after moving off it. No repeats.
