Stopped at the Buc-ees when we stayed in Bastrop. I thought "Why aren't all rest stops like this!" If you're going through Texas put this on your list. Oh. And the Alamo.

Nice place to stop but no windshield washing stations at the pumps. Delayed getting fuel until I reached the Buc E's but after filling up and finding nothing to clean my bug spattered windshield don't think I'll ever stop at another one.

One item for sale at a Buc-ees. It's a cooler.

For that price, it had better be a refrigerator/freezer with an icemaker!

Don't care about food and trinkets but gas and diesel prices are best to be found by 20, 30 even 40 cents per gallon.

We rarely pass up a stop at Buc-ee's. Even if we don't need gas we stop for the very clean rest rooms. When going to Houston to visit kids/grandkids on I-10 our car is programmed to stop at the Luling Buc-ee's.

Danny,

We lived close to Bastrop
, too - real mystery about the washer buckets. We started getting our fuel at the Shell station next door same price. Yeah you can get your rig in there!

They have shot themselves in the foot with their removing the wash stands.
We have 125 gallons fuel capacity on board and only stop for fuel every 1800 miles or so . So getting the bugs and grime off the windshield and headlights are a big deal.
Plenty of other places to stop for fuel that are not "CHEAP CHARLIES " with the same priced fuel.

Filled up at Buc-ees in New Braunfels today and asked an employee about the windshield wash buckets and he pointed to the wash station in the parking lot away from the pumps with plenty of room for my trailer and truck. He said they were losing as many 30 sqeegees a day as customers "forgot" to return them to the buckets when they were next to the pumps.

This "Breaking news headline just in" -- The Buc-ees in Bastrop has just jacked up the price of diesel by 20 cents a gallon for your Labor Day weekend enjoyment ! :-(

They're not alone in that. There's typically a jump in diesel prices at every service station and convenience store chain for every holiday weekend.

I don't know what I would do without Buc-ee's. I don't know how I would do my job. I don't know how I would live my life.

We did a 6,000-mile road trip in 2014, which was the inspiration trip for the subsequent purchase of our Airstream Interstate. Every time it would occur to me that this trip would take us outside The Buc-ee's Zone, I would start to hyperventilate. Driving thousands of miles in a cramped, over-stuffed minivan was not the problem. Driving in areas without Buc-ee's was the problem. I barely survived.

When the new Buc-ee's Texas City location launched, I bought my father a commemorative grand opening T-shirt. I told him, "Go ahead and wear this as you conduct your daily routine there in far northeastern Nova Scotia. I guarantee you that there will be people who come up to you in the street and strike up a conversation with you, asking you what you know about Buc-ee's."

Great well kept restrooms, plenty of "stuff" to buy... When grandkids with me, they hit me up for $30 once!!!! And now, there are so many "cagers" who aren't paying attention in the parking lot and the exits, it is now OFF our list ... We stop at other places....
