Here is a couple photos of Oasis RV resort I took at Thanksgiving 2007 when we were there. These are premium sites which were nice for what we needed. Our site# was 313 which was close to the pool(nice one!) and clubhouse. I wouldn't want to stay in the standard sites in the back as they are shared...one driveway for 2 rv's.

Maybe Oasis would be a better option. Im sure everything is expensive and its only for one night but i was surprised that i could stay at Circus Circus in one of their airstreams for nearly the same price as bringing my own. Something seems wrong about that dont you think?

Has anyone ever boarded their pet (in our case, Lab) when in Las Vegas? Somewhere near the strip so we dont have to worry about her??

Vinnie- We have a handfull of stores called Pet Smart here in Las Vegas. I'm sure at least two have pet hotels inside. I'm guessing the hotel at their Stephanie St. store is about 8 miles east from the south end of the strip.
Their phone # is (702) 898-0055 if your interested. Hope this helps.

How about Boulder Beach CG in Lake Mead NRA?

okay,,,,,so I'm a little late for this event. I do want to mention Boulder Beach campgrounds on the shore of Lake Mead, just outside of Boulder City. The campgrounds is part of the National Park Service so....if you qualify for a golden-age passport (if you're 65 or older) it's only $6/nite. Otherwise, it's $12, still not bad for a quiet, tree-enriched area with a beautiful lake and mountains to watch. Therre are bike trails and great hiking in the area. Do you fish? With Brittinys, I'd guess you might be a bird shooter. Boulder City has Deseert Lake shooting club....an awsome place for sporting clays or most other types of shooting. Great place to get away from the frazzel of Vegas...

Planning a trip to Vegas

I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Vegas. I have read the posts here and it seems that the KOA is going to be the best for me, I guess?

What I would like is a nice campground that will take either my 88 or my 68 Airstream (both are nice looking) and stay as close to the strip as possible. We like urban camping and the mayhem that will bring as long as it is safe. I am planning on at least 3 nights so we can "play" on the strip!

We don't have a problem walking to the strip and would not like to drive and park if all possible.

Any suggestion would be great!

Thanks!

Ed,
We stayed at the KOA in Las Vegas for a few days over the holidays around last New Year's Eve. At that time of the year it was quite cold for Vegas. In fact, the outside hose froze one night. The whole campground is asphalt which, at that time of year, didn't pose a problem. I suppose it can be very hot during the summer season. It's part of the Circus-Circus Casino, and is within walking distance of the strip. Our group just bought day passes for the bus system, so we rarely had to drive anywhere. That worked out very well. It seemed to be very secure. None of our group had any problems.

I can't say for sure, but I rather doubt they would have any problem with any Airstreams. In fact, they have two 2009 25 ft. Airstreams for rent. We stayed in ours, rented one for kids (grown and married), and the other AS was rented by friends of ours. I saw a variety if rigs there, new and old.

Here is a link to a thread I started about my trip. There's more information, and some of the pictures may help you visualize the campground. If I can be of further help, just ask.
The Las Vegas part starts at post #7:
