Kapow! There goes a window...

Rolling slowly through Carlsbad, NM yesterday. Pulled into a gas station and found the center front window shattered. Never heard a sound. Had to be recent because I am pretty anal about checking the rear view often. Carlsbad is resurfacing all of its section of US 285 so there was lots of gravel...

Fortunately a Loew's was four blocks away so we rolled in and bought a plywood cover.

Then, off to Albuquerque where Andrew at Holiday Trailers tried to find replacement glass from AS (no longer available). Plan "b" was then to take it to a glass shop and see if they could replace it (it is a flat piece after all) but then Andrew (my latest hero) offered up a used window off of a trailer he had in his "boneyard". Fit like a champ! And an excellent price.

Four years ago the same fellow repaired my old Sovereign after I whacked the a/c into a portico. So, if you find yourself in need of maintenance in the Albuquerque area, this is the place to go.

Mike, a rock guard would be a worthy investment to protect those wing windows.

We had our front window smashed by an ex friend who had mental problems.

I have now replaced it with a lexan sheet so it shouldn't go again.

I don't know what to do about the wing windows. I might build some lexaan covers for them
