Lee,
I removed both of my TVs. I will be leaving the DVR and dish at home so it does not forget my favorite programs.

I 'm just getting ready for area 33. I dropped my trailer of at AS of Spokane yesterday. I left it there. I have an elusive water leak. Started after the factory repaired the damage done by the police in Denver. Had to drop the water tank to find the source. The weather was getting bad so I headed home.

On the other hand.... what of these things you can 'really' do without if you did indeed 'forget'?

I've carried a camp shovel and an axe in the tool box of my trailer for years
and NEVER used them.

I pack differently if the weekend includes hookups or just boondocking.

I got an axe for a gift a long time ago and kept in in the truck... never had to use it, really... until one time. Had to have fire for food & warmth and had we not had that axe, we would of been in real trouble... Have used the folding, camping shovel often when cleaning up after our fire and putting it out. Both are tools that when you need 'em, you really need 'em.

Axe and shovel

... yeah, until you REALLY need 'em, they don't matter. I once on a fishing trip in Northern Michigan in February (read: real cold) got my 4WD truck stuck about 5 miles from the nearest paved road, sitting on both differentials and a skid plate, with all four wheels in water when the ice-filled ruts I was driving on (but I didn't know it because of snow) broke through (don't ask how this is possible! ...)

hWithout an axe and shovel, I might still be there. Never have left home on a signficant trip without them (and usually a smallish folding saw) since.

Thumbs up Always carry an axe in the woods.

I'm with you guys. I carry a folding shovel, an axe, and a "Swede saw"--as well as a log chain--in my 4WD truck when in the woods. On one memorable occasion, after a severe thunderstorm, I had to cut and drag all or part of 4 trees out of the road--to open up at least one lane--to travel 5 miles.

(The people behind me appreciated it, too.)

Hey Thecats,

All you need is: runway before you, or altitude beneath you, and a chance to use either. Wal-mart supplies everything else.
