just returned - the west is the best
greetings! i don't post much but do lurk often...sounds more ominous than it is.
got back home yesterday afternoon from a 15-day, 11-state trip out west. beginning in ga (atlanta area), we (wife and i) hit western ark, the tx panhandle, santa fe, the great sand dunes, moab, monument valley, the grand canyon, finishing tuesday am with coffee literally on the banks of the mississippi in memphis. lotsa stuff in between.
no problems with the '66 tradewind (other than a fuse for the jack - quickly fixed) or the f250 psd tow vehicle. diesel ranged from $4.40-$4.89/gal (though i did see a sign for $5.11 in moab.).
incredible trip - hundreds of pics and loads of vids. still decompressing. it's great to be home, but we already miss the road.
in the words of big russ, tim russert's pa, "what a country." safe journeys to all!

Welcome to the Forum.
I agree the West is best and that's why we live here. The picture looks like Monument Valley or perhaps SE of Canyonlands NP. We've enjoyed our trips through Georgia too.

We are currently out west [in Moab right now] and you're right, the west rocks. We are having a blast. It's cool to experience camping in a such a different setting. This is completely different than fall camping in New England!!! Which by the way is pretty special too. Stevo, visit northern NE in the fall and you'll be saying "What a country" again. Glad you had a safe trip.

here's a pic from mesa verde, located in sw colorado. cave-dwelling pueblo indians lived here from @ 1190-1270ad. the entire area is incredible - it really put the zap on us.

Great post Stevo, welcome to the forum!
That's a great trip, it would have been nice if you could have visited California as well. Especially the non-L.A./Frisco areas. Lots to see and do out here.
Looking forward to more photos...

Looks like a great trip, stevo. Wish I had known you were in Arkansas at the time. That's a good looking Trade Wind, too. Glad everything went smoothly.
