We stayed at Rancho Sedona in Sedona, AZ. last fall. Request a sight on the river. Lovely, well shaded campground in a very pretty setting. We saw what appeared to be a 1950's restored trailer (not Airstream), painted in pretty pastel colors, in the park.

My trailer will never get older than 9 years. The only way I could get tripped up on this is if they examine the date manufactured label. After looking out the window or door of their office, no one has ever wanted to check out that plate. I've only encountered one park that has ever asked me the build date of my trailer and that was my Hi-Lo. Being garaged when not in use for 14 years, it never looked aged and at the time I was asked it was past 10 years old. I told them it was 9, they looked out the office window and I got a spot.

If the trailer is in good shape most, not all, will let you in. They are trying to keep the place "upscale". Plus, as others have said, they won't have a clue how old it is.

Crabbey 1 please believe me, you did not want to stay there at all. Yes I know there is one good review on Woodalls and the managers are nice but they did you a favor.

On the other hand I did not know that would be something we would be faced with as we work on our 66 that may never be polished.

Of course boycott's and less than favorable write ups do work.

As I sit typing this at a Park in Steamboat Springs on the Yampa river, I'm looking at a piece of crap converted Bluebird school bus, complete with trustafarians with pit bulls. While I have issues with RV age restrictions, they do not trump my belief in private property rights.

Seems like I parked next to them in 1977 at an RV park in Boulder.
The pit bull bitch had a litter of puppies under the bus (not that there's anything wrong with that), and at night the trustafarians smoked pot around the campfire (not that there's anything wrong with that) and fired pistols into the air (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I'm with you Dennis! What someone decides with their private property is their choice. The very first trip we took we came across this situation in UTAH. I did send them pictures of our restored AS and they waived the ban but if they hadn't it would have been fine with me.

Totally agree!

We called a KOA midway between CT and TN to reserve an overnight stop (not even unhitching) to hit the road immediately the next morning. When she asked me what I had and I said "Airstream" - she literally said, "I will do anything to have an Airstream stay here!" :-)

Ours isn't close to 10 yet so wouldn't be a problem but folks really do seem to love to have Airstreams in their parks...

Let's see...our Airstream was originally built in 1956...but we call it a 2010 as that is when it was re-built if we are stuck with a place like that. Besides, nobody really believes us when we say it's a '56 anyways ~

Generally, we try really, really hard to avoid those snobby places in the first place.

I live close by and could check places out for you if you have any questions. In this case its not a snobby thing they may be trying to clean up and have drawn a hard line at age of trailer. I don't wish to disparage so feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Thanks but we already decided on a different trip. We just wanted something easy for our first trek but also fun and interesting. We decided on Rancho Oso Guest Ranch and Resort
It is only 2 hours away, no crazy hills and full hook ups. We will be horseback riding this weekend!

The only outward difference from my '99 and a 2011 (the last time 34's were built) is the pinstripe and the name badge. So my '99 became an '11 when the time came. Some day I'll remove the big blue pinstripe and update it again .
