Journey West began!!!

I can't believe we've been on the road for a month and I'm just "checking in"! We've been BUSY! We left Jax, FL on March 26 and have made it to the Grand Canyon without any major mishaps! Someone did leave a small cooler full of ice and 2 open coke cans (I know, stupid!) on the kitchen counter and we only realized it when I reached for a diet coke for Bob! Stopped as soon as we could and found the cooler on the floor with coke & ice water splashed everywhere. Short clean up & we were on the road again. We decided the dog missed it on his final walk through!!!
Leaving here tomorrow for Death Valley NP & then on to Kings Canyon & Yosemite in mid May. Sounds like we'll be running into some snow so that may slow us down a bit.
I'll try to report in more often!

Death Valley will be heating up now. 113 last week. Yosemite will be beautiful and begining to fill up. Keep us posted...and keep the cooler in the tow vehicle. No the dog isn't the blame.

OK, we're all the way to Lake Tahoe and have seen too many mountain roads, steep inclines, switchbacks, and deep canyons. We feel a real kinship with Thelma and Louis (except that our "going over the edge" would not be intentional; big difference!) We've decided to head east from here and get to Yellowstone a little earlier than originally planned. I'm going to try to attach pictures but it seems more complicated than usual.

We did Yellowstone, Glacier and Banff last year. Each one spectacular but Banff is breath taking. The Canadian Rockies are not to be missed, heck you may as well head to Alaska while you're at it.
