In the area where the skin gets riveted to the ribs, there is a person outside with the rivet gun and one inside bucking the rivet. That noise is continuous from both the end cap assembly nearby to the side panels assembly and the body assembly area. Probably a 150, foot circle would encompass this noise generation area.

The grocery store was closed when we were there last, in May. It would be nice if one opened there again, but all the fixtures were being moved out.

Now that I know the Wi-Fi works well in the Terraport, I must amend an earlier statement about people hanging around with a tow vehicle, some Zip Dee chairs, and a dog.
The Terraport will have a bunch of folks hanging around with a tow vehicle, some Zip Dee chairs, a dog, and an iPad...

I'm sorry to hear that the Jackson Center Grocery is gone. Another bit of Americana bites the dust.

The last time we were at Jackson Center. as we had the truck camper with us, we stayed in it and let Lucy stay in the Service center overnight. We got some strange looks from the other campers at the Terraport. We were looked upon as non-Airstream interlopers.

There is a new dollar store where Paul's was. They have a wide selection of junk food and ketchup as well as a limited freezer. Not Paul's but saves an hours drive for something!

We are usually pretty well stocked on groceries when we travel, but what about when the green tractor takes your house away?
I guess you get in the tow vehicle and go to a restaurant?

Uncle JD does the pickups starting at 7am you can waste your day away in the service center. There is the parts store there, vending, and always the company of other streamers. You'll likely never get bored. Additionally the factory has a great display of heritage products on display in the front parking lot. If memory serves me, the oldest is a 1937 clipper. Don't forget Don Ambus and the your every day at 2 pm.

I was at the factory to watch our unit be built (from 2 January 2014 to the 15th) and Don now has a similar vintage side kick who gives tours some days.

No dis-respect intended. I gave him a lift home on one of the zero degree days in early January rather than let him hike home. He is a bushel basket full of Airstream stories and minutia.

Don reminds me of a W-4 warrant officer with 32 years of service who served on my second ship in the late 60s. That chap had forgotten more than the new guys would or could ever learn about all that WW II equipment that was still in use.

He is a really cool fellow. We have known him for many years. He is a really cool fellow. I think he is 86 this year? Does pretty well every day!

Sounds like a visit there is really worthwhile. We had an April 1 appt., but the weather forecast has changed, so we are now going in early May. Our route will take us through Kentucky and Illinois so we hope to enjoy it in good weather.
