Well, it isn't Monday, but now that you asked. We went to Ft. Wilderness, Disney World for our annual Christmas trip to Disney. This was our first Christmas at Ft. Wilderness. Honestly, we used our Airstream as a hotel room. The only meals we ate there were breakfasts each morning. We hardly used the cable and only drove away from the camp site once on the day we arrived. The rest of the time was spent in the parks.

The weather was great. We arrived on 12/20 and it rained that night, but that was the only rain we got while we were there. The night time temps were in the upper 50's to low 60's and the day time temps were in the upper 70's to low 80's. Mostly sunny with some cloud cover, but it was definitely shorts weather for me.

We were sad to leave on Christmas eve, but we needed to get home and get ready for Christmas, so we headed home. Today, I'm back at work and getting ready for the new year. Right now, I'm looking forward to the next camping adventure: Can Opener 2008!

Feels like Monday

We returned yesterday from a 4 day jaunt in the Airstream for Christmas at Lake San Antonio. Beautiful weather and lot's of wildlife including a mountain lion, a golden eagle and a few coyotes much to the chagrin of our resident roadrunner. The roadrunner would spend the afternoons on the hillside behind us catching bugs. We spent the afternoons watching the fish jump in the lake.

We just got back from 5 days at Ft. Wilderness at Walt Disney World. The weather was great! It rained the first night late, but we weren't in the parks when it did and after that the weather was beautiful. We got back about 7:30 Monday evening in time for Santa.

Now we are waiting 'till next week when we head back to FL for the Can Opener Rally at Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

Just got back today. We went to Slab City, Ca. and then to Tucson and headed back via the high desert. Stopped for a night at Cadiz Dry Lake an enjoyable 1100 mi. trip and it was cold everywhere.

What a wet weekend...

Just got back from East Shores RV Park in San Dimas, Ca. What a beautiful RV park. First thing was to setup in the pouring rain on Friday night. Of course, I forgot to bring a rain coat. But that was ok because I knew I had my umbrella in the back of the Durango. Wrong. The umbrella was in the back of the Jeep I had been driving all week. Second thing was to get the water heater going and our portable room heater. Well, both can't run at the same time and we blew a fuse. Got that settled and decided to get out of my wet clothes and into my pajamas. Oops, forgot those too.

We got setup and ready for bed. That's when we noticed the vent above the bed was leaking. So I got to sleep that night with my wife and a tupperware bowl.

We were able to get a tarp over the front of the trailer by Saturday afternoon and finished the weekend off strong with our Airstream group.

We attended the Can Opener Rally this weekend, too. Best rally so far. Great weather (for the winter, anyway) great fellowship, great food, and a great time. Did I mention the great fellowship with old friends and new?

Devoman (Steve) did an excellent job with putting together maps, name tags, raffle tickets, and other organizing tips. He had lots of support for Phil Gobie and everybody had a great time...at least I heard no complaints.

Can't wait 'till next year!
