I just got back from Lake Wallenpaupack

It's a beautiful lake in Northeast Pennsylvania. We had a Sweet 16 camping party for my daughter. My stepson picked us all up in a pontoon boat, and shuttled us across the lake to a waterfront restaurant. We had a wonderful time, singing around the campfire and enjoying the shady campsites.
The Capri campground looked great from far away, but I spent the better part of the weekend cleaning up broken glass and unmentionable trash.
I am glad I didn't have to use the stinky outhouse. I got about 50 feet away from the " bathrooms " and decided to run in the opposite direction. We asked if the campground sold firewood. They brought us some dry rotted
pressure treated lumber....FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!! It's probably still there if you want it.

We had a nephew get married on the opposite side of the Twin Cities. We pulled the silver palace and stayed just across the border at a Wisconsin state park -- at least we knew in advance that they shut off all campground water and closed the bathrooms on October 1st. A 5 gallon plastic jerry can always comes in handy!

Our weather was Florida-like with very high humidity all weekend. We sat on the picnic table last night watching airliners 45 seconds apart passing 3000' overhead going into Minneapolis. It's quite alright if that's as noisy as I ever have to camp -- the submarine races were done by 9:00PM.

We spent the weekend at the Petaluma KOA. It is about an hour north of San Francisco. It has HUGE trees and is a really nice place to stay that is very close to many fun towns. It was our final trip in our Bambi, we had our 25' delivered the day before we left. It was kind of sad to think that we wont be having anymore trips in our little 19'. She has been a fantastic trailer, but hopefully whoever buys her will have as much fun as we have had.

Yes, we get attached to our first Airstreams. Ooh! What kind of 25' did you get? Petaluma is at the center of some of the most gorgeous day trips in the world. And also the hometown filmed in Peggy Sue Got Married -- it and Raising Arizona were the last fun roles played by Nicholas Cage before he took himself too seriously.

Everyone should try to get there at least once...
I'll bet it was beautiful this time of year.

...and we've just unpacked from our 6-day run up the North Shore of Superior and back down home again. Beautiful leaves, gorgeous weather, and are we glad we got outta Dodge when we did. The 5 day forecast for the area we visited calls for high wind, lots of rain (forecast the possibility today of an inch an hour), low temps-days dipping to the 40's. Brrrr! ~G

Just got back from the WBCCI Autumn Leaf Rally at Pennwood Campground in Limestone, PA.

The place was packed; the food and entertainment was first rate; it was a great time!
