And yes it was! Too much good food, wine, fellowship, and high country Colorado. Ready to go back. Cassidy, the Jack Russel, got tired enough that he slept most of the time going back to NM.

Shirtale Creek,

This was a little thunderstorm than rolled thru Saturday evening. This storm started over 600 fires in the N. California area. Pictures taken for Shirtale Creek Lake, in the Auburn area.

It's Tuesday Morning

And I just got back from St. Louis where I attended the ATSI (Association of Telemessaging Services International) Convention.

Our operators won our company the ATSI Award of Excellence for the fourth year running!

Stayed in the Casino Queen RV Park on the east side of the Mississippi. Very good suggestion from all who helped - the trees are a tiny bit bigger than the pictures on their website show, and the spaces were SMALL, but it was very convenient to the convention site. The ARCH was kool, though I didn't get time to go up in it, and the convention hotel - Hyatt Regency Union Station was an amazing venue. If you're in St. Louis, go there! The golden age of train stations definitely - looks like a cathedral or a monestary on the outside, and the grand ballroom/station room just makes your jaw drop.

The weather held good for most of the trip there and back, with a brief downpour in West Virginia.

Paula

It's Tuesday and I am just now getting around to posting. Returned from the VAC Virginia Rally. There were about 39 trailers, and many more people, kids, and animals in attendance. The most popular trailer in attendance was the Globe Trotter, but many nice vintage and some newer unit were there, even a B van. Hope everyone made it home safely.

We went to Orlando this weekend for a three day weekend. Yes, we went to see the mouse two of those days and we will go back this weekend for the week of the 4th. For us, Disney is a family obsession and we go as often as we can get away. This year we will go a total of 5 times.

Cannon Beach, Oregon

Just got back from a long weekend in Cannon Beach. The coast was unusually warm (80s), but still had its usual cool breeze happening. Attached pix are me doing a sun soak after the drive from Portland, our camping spot and a few shots of our favorite place, Crescent Beach.

It's a bit of a trek down (and up) a "watch your step trail" to get to this secluded cove and for that reason, there are seldom more than twenty people on the mile-long beach. Many times, we've been the only ones there. Ecola Seafood in town has great fresh and smoked fish, as well as an informal cafe for those who want to skip the dinner prep.

The 90 minute coastal/mountains access is one of the reasons we moved here from Chicago.

Rivet Kalamazoo, Michigan

For a conference about Kalamazoo's scholarship program, PromiseNet.2008 Conference. Murphy Oil in El Dorado, Arkansas has started a similar program there El Dorado Promise with a donation of $50 Million for scholarships for El Dorado students. Needless to say, this is one oil company that is not seen as bad guys there.

Didn't get to take the Airstream, though. Went with the Murphy people in one of these: The Falcon 2000DX business jet has a range of 3,250 miles and provides high performance, comfort and the extended range of a large corporate aircraft with the agility and fuel efficiency of a smaller one. No offense to Airstreams, but it was every bit as cool. Must be nice to work for a company like that, they have a Citation too.

From 4 nights 5 days in beautiful San Diego,California. Made a visit to the San Diego Zoo, where it was not hot or cold. The temputure was "just right". It's still a great zoo to visit.

Made visits to all the military installations as well as the decomissioned "USS Midway" of which I worked in the #2 engine room in it's last days as part of the Naval fleet. You can now take a tour of the Aircraft carrier as well as other historical sites in San Diego.
