Sundermeier. Good location in St Charles on MO river. West of downtown. On Katy trail for bike riding / walking and close to old town St Charles for restaurants.

I just used the Good Sam Trip Planner. I built my upcoming trip to MN in the tool as a test and overall it was useful. Honestly I don't know if it is new or not, but I just noticed it so its new to me. Like you I would like to have a good computer / phone based tool.

I found the Good Sam tool to be fairly intuitive and user friendly. But also a bit limited in what it could do. Nonetheless it is a good start. I sent them some improvement suggestions and hopefully it will improve with time.

Previous to this I used a PowerPoint slide in the form of a calendar. I put the locations, travel days, distances, RV parks and everything on one page I could take with me. I used a map, the internet, Good Sam web site and KOA website to create the calendar/slide. A bit tedious to create, but it has been very useful approach for me.

This thread is fairly long, so please forgive this repeated suggestion. A good road atlas is an excellent aid in planning long trips IMO -- not the only one by any means -- but a really handy way to start the planning process.

No electrical power or Internet connection needed . . . oh . . . you might need a pencil too.
. . .
PS -- Easy for the kids to use too!
. . .
Happy trails,

Peter

I contacted Good Sam about their new trip planner. Below is their response. The temporary one is simple but fairly easy to use not too bad so I hope the end of year release is good!

“Please keep in mind this is a temporary limited feature planner we were forced to install when Rand pulled their product with very short notice.
We ask that all members fill out the survey located on the first page of the website with suggestions of features and flexibility they want added to our full feature planner.
We have targeted the end of the year to have the new planner installed.”

Happy trails,

"Repeated suggestion"...must have missed them 😁😁😁

We use a varient using AAA maps. Like the detail inc the ramp #'s especially. Wife who uses ink in the checkbook does the navigation and mileage math. Plus I like to be able to mark them up. How about RMc in a dry erase page version ???
