no commercial traffic no gas or grocery stores available. have to get off and get stuff and get back on. I always carry extra gas ...just in case. beautiful relaxing trip !!!! speed limit is 55 and the most relaxing time is to be had. start just west of Nashville and go the distance!

Speed limit 50-
You go through sizable towns with services often enough.

The Natchez Trace is definitely worth it for the history(Andrew Jackson and the war of 1812) and the natural beauty. Just a very peaceful drive all the way around. If you go to the southern end in Natchez and it is mid march you will also be there for the Spring Pilgrimage of the Historic Mansions that are on view. Don't miss Rosalie - The Lady on the Bluff. Also this year, the City of Natchez is celebrating its 300th birthday and has some activity going on every day of 2016.

Not only is it a beautiful easy ride, we averaged over 14MPG on our 25 truck a Hemi.
On the south end we stayed at a beautiful engineers park on the river. I can't recall the name.

We did the first section from Natchez to Jackson just commuting...beautiful. It was my intention to do the whole length this past November but truck problems resulted in a shortened trip...I will be doing it East to West this coming fall. One of our Bucket List items that I will unfortunately, be running solo this time.

As pleasant a drive as you will have; wouldn't it be wonderful if all roadways were this nice. We drove the entire length, camped in the parks, soaked up the history, and look forward to the opportunity to do it again. Also great for motorcycles, bicycles, and roadsters with the top down.

If I would have known when you were traveling the Trace, I might have met you at Jeff Busby or French Camp and shook your hand.

If you're into architecture, don't miss a tour of this jewel by Frank Lloyd Wright in Florence, AL just off the Trace.
Rosenbaum House.

Will have to check it out-
Maybe next time we go to J. P. Coleman State Park in Nivember.
I'm actually a school of architecture drop-out.

You'd be in good company at this house which has very little to do with formal architectural training.
