Insurance Issue Warning
Yesterday I received a cancellation notice for my trailer insurance. My insurance is through FCIS (RV Advantage) and the policy is issued by Allied. I was set up on auto payment and my payment had come out regularly for years. I called FCIS to see what the problem was and told them that the August payment had come out of the account but not Sept. The lady told me that Allied had been giving the same price if paid in full or monthly, and that they stopped doing that. The problem was they didn't give any notice, but rather just stopped the auto pay system on the accounts. She was very helpful and got my account straightened out. She said they have had this happen to a lot of accounts. Allied also charged me a late fee for the Sept payment which they stopped and charged me $5 for having to mail me a bill. She got both of these waived also.
I got this in the mail by chance on the two weeks I am back home, but had I not been home I would have been traveling about thinking I had coverage when in fact I didn't because of a cancellation they in fact caused.
Just an informational post in case you have your insurance through FCIS. It may be wise to give them a call. They were extremely helpful.
