Liability exposure is covered by the insurance on your tow vehicle. Insuring the trailer for repair or replacement is covered by property insurance, which must be purchased separately from the liability coverage. I highly recommend you talk to the insurance agent handling your auto and home insurance. If you don't have an agent, get one. The major insurance companies include Allstate, State Farm, Liberty Mutual, and Farmers Insurance Group. Stay safe and happy travels!

National Interstate is a major insurer of RV's, Good Sam has an Insurance program as does FMCA.

We can't recommend a specific company, but I would suggest that it's worth reading the fine print on what exactly a given policy would cover if you do get into an accident or something comparable. We bought a more expensive "Cadillac" insurance policy on Bambi I, and were so glad we did after it got totalled in an accident and it turned out that our policy covered the entire cost of a *new* replacement for 2005, the date it was manufactured.
We live in Canada and I don't know if this type of policy is available in the US, but obviously a used trailer is worth a lot less than what you paid for it-- but then your replacement costs may be considerably higher.
You never think you'll need insurance till something like an accident happens, and then you don't want to learn that saving some dollars on your policy really costs a lot more when you shop for a replacement. (Penny-wise and pound-foolish or something.)

http://www.rvadvantage.com/ They know Airstreams and if your a WBCCI member you get a 10% discount. Never had to file a claim so can't comment on that. They will also do stated value policies if you get an appraisal.
Be careful about adding your Airstream to your truck policy, many of them only cover the trailer while towing, once you unhitch, no coverage! Check and read the policy before you send them money.

From what I've heard most hail damage is so expensive to fix that it usually ends up with the insurance company paying you the depreciated book value of your rig (much less than it's worth to you). Unless you have an agreed value policy.

I've heard that it is advisable to separate your RV insurance from your vehicle insurance. That's probably easier to do with a MH than with a towable, but that's what we did. The Foretravel is insured with one company, while the Jeep is insured with another. Supposedly a claim on one policy won't affect the other one. No claims on either one, so no personal experience.

Progressive Insurance does NOT do stated or agreed values, only depreciated value less your deductible. Stated to me yesterday on their. Phone number (855)293-2648. AEW

Hi Unifreck. That is strange that the agent would tell you that. We just converted to an agreed value policy a few weeks ago with Progressive, and they advertise agreed value policies for RVs on their website. (I believe the highest agreed value they offer is $75,000, so maybe you were seeking higher?) Best, Joe

Jayseejay---- Thank you for your post. I'll try the toll free line again, maybe they rotate thru different sales "experts " and I'll get someone with more experience.

I'll second Jayseejay. We just bought an Airstream and I purchased an agreed value policy from Progressive. Agent on the phone told me they MIGHT ask for proof of what I paid, but 2 weeks later all I've gotten from them are my policy documents. I've used Progressive for my boat & jet-ski policies and I've been very satisfied with the premiums and the handling of one claim I submitted. The Airstream premium feels reasonable, and they do agreed value, which others I called would not do.

We have Progressive for the MH. When we bought it we insured it for what we paid for it. This year they said that, even though we were paying for it as if it was still worth what we paid for it, they said it isn't worth that much. Of course, they accepted the premium when it was paid. We're still trying to get some logic from them. When we list our Foretravel (soon, I hope) we will list it for $39,000, which is more than what we paid for it (but less than what we have in it). From what I've seen on Foreforums, that price is pretty reasonable.
I think it pays to go up the ladder if the person you talk to first doesn't give you the answer you want.

We also have an agreed value policy on our EB 27 airstream. The policy was on a new airstream and will stay at the agreed value for five years.

I was just looking for an Agreed Value policy with Progressive and advised to ge a Certified Appraisal or go with NADA values. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Certified appraiser in the East Texas area or suggestions as to what service you used>
