To whoever the driver of the 18-wheeler was who saw us coming down the on-ramp onto a crowded 401 highway and pulled into the middle lane to create a space for us, a heart-felt thank you.

I am finding most truckers incredibly helpful and courteous when we're towing. A quick flash of the lights to let us know we can pull into their lane, a thank you of the four way flashers when we do the same for them, it almost feels like they're taking care of us and our rig.

I agree, I pull a lot of trips across Pa each Summer and I have the same experience. Sometimes I tuck behind a truck and ride along for hours. My dad a trucker taught me the flash lites years ago, I always thank them and I will flash them that they r safe to cut back in.

I have always found truckers to be very courtious.

A lot of automobile drivers used to extend the same courtesies. A few of the less self-absorbed ones still do.

Yep, our experience as well.

Doug-the-driver always extends the same courtesies and light flashes to them.

I always flash them to let them know it's safe to pull in, something routinely done in the UK, but few truckers here in Canada seem to notice. Maybe it's because my TV running lights are on all the time?

I really appreciate their courtesy in letting me onto the road from on ramps when towing. It seems the car drivers are just too distracted or self centered to be polite and or prevent an accident.

experience is a great teacher. most people have never towed a trailer and don't understand. where i live there are a few turns that a trailer needs two lanes. if possible, i'll try to block one lane so they don't have to hold up traffic waiting to turn. i think it shocks a lot of truckers delivering in ny, lol.

I have noticed that most on ramps on major highways all have a"yeild" sign, something most people gunning onto the highway ignore the meaning of. That is annoying to me.

On the flip side of the coin is when you are just about to overtake a semi trailer and he has no problem still comming out to the fast lane, even if it means I need to brake. I'm sorry, people comming on the freeway by means of the on-ramp should be yielding/ merging, not the people running 65. It happens every one and a while an really bugs me. MOST of the truckers are professional, and I as well do the move over a lane if I can. I also use my lights to signal. Together we can keep traffic moving! MPJ

There are good and bad drivers on both sides of the fence.I will say it not like the old days,BUT neather are the roads.Boy what the Interstate highway did to the U.S.A,Good and Bad.I remember driving the old 66 from LA to OK city before I-40 It was long and slow but all the little business along the way where nice now all gone(This was before I became an A&P aircraft mechanic in 1953)
