Well now that all you good people have gone back to work we decided to take a little trip away from the Olympic Peninsula so we are in Wenatchee for a few days. We will go down through Yakima to the Gorge and then down to visit friends in Salem. After that it's down to Eugene to pick up the wife's mom and bring her home with us for a visit in the Great Northwest.

While I think of it while camping in Port Townsend take a short ride to Port Hadlock and have dinner at the Ajax Café. It's great food and a fun place especially if you like hats.

Orange, nice view! What was your campsite number if you know, and would it fit a 28'?

Good thread. I have it marked for reference. I will be traveling thru your beautiful state later this summer and I'm looking for special places to visit/camp while there.

Washington Coast

Cape Disappointment didn't turn out as one. It was gorgeous, large park with lots of hiking, beaches and even surfing (read...brrrr) at Waikiki Beach. 2 Lighthouses and a cafe/store as you enter. It is at the mouth of the Columbia River on the Washington side. We hiked to the lighthouse and spotter's house where they watch for boats crossing the bar. Great fun at the coast.

Gorgeous area, I live on the other side of the river. Nearby, the LongBeach Peninsula area has some unique outdoor events to enjoy if you head to that area check www.funbeach.com they had the clam festival this last weekend. There is also a small eclectic trailer park in Longbeach that they have remodeled vintage airstream trailers, that folks can rent and spend the night, as well as pull in your airstream..25 full hookups and 20 dry/campsites hookups an outdoor kitchen and a main lodge. I just love this thread, it gives me lots of new ideas (and reminds me of ones that I have been to) that are avail right here is our backyard.

Thursday we are headed out to North Whidbey RV Park. It's right across the street from the Deception Pass State Park. This weekend is the Holland Happenings at Oak Harbor, with a parade Sat morning and followed by a street fair and lots of good eats.

The Washington Unit, North Cascade and British Columbia Units of the WBCCI is having a rally at the campground, stop by and say hello to us.

We de-winterized the 22nd of Feb and spent a couple of weeks down south in Death Valley and Vegas. By the time we got back most danger of hard freeze was over. Our AS is kept in a RV garage, so we have a bit more confidence than if it was outside.
Just got back from Sacramento area last week where it was summer weather. Keeping it ready to roll on whatever whim strikes us now until late October.

That's good to hear. We are headed up to Whidbey Island tomorrow morning, looks like a rainy weekend.

The first weekend in May is the All You Can Eat Crab Feed at Olympia, Land Yacht Harbor, forecast looks like more sun than rain.

Still waiting...

Our 20FC is in process of being built (yes, right NOW), and we're hoping it will be delivered here in the next couple of weeks. We can't wait to start using it!

So far our plans include: Lakeshore @ Chelan 6/11 - 6/14 and Boundary Dam late July (no hookups, free site)

Since we're new to this, we want to stay close to home until we get the hang of it, so we'll be checking out things within an hour or 2 of here mostly this summer.

Wow, so nice, I was just looking at campsites at Deception Pass last night. It's been a while since we've been there.

We spent the last two days near Mt Rainier at the Maple Grove Resort in Randle. You're right KathyH, the weather was beautiful. Of course, it rained last night. And now it's wet and cloudy outside. What a difference from yesterday.

Where did you stay this weekend? Any upcoming plans for Memorial Day weekend?

...and Maple Grove, too. Hey, next time you're in the Vicinity of Randle, also check out Iron Creek. No hookups, but the trees. The trees. Amazing. Facility Details - Iron Creek Campground, WA - Recreation.gov

Thanks! Get a beach side spot-the best! Sites are close together and no trees, but worth it to be 20 steps from the beach.
