I got distracted this past fall and that pump put a gallon of antifreeze in the hot water heater before I remembered I forgot to bypass it.

RoadKing.... as a newbie with a tiny AS... and ex tent camper.... We had the checklists for departure down pat.... But as a new trailer owner I need help. Would you care to share your lists, we are getting ready to leave for a trip to New Jersey in May.... first one cross country. I'm a bit intimidated.

Have a look at the Airstream Care app.
https://www.airstream.com/airstream-care/
It can help track maintenance, etc and has built in checklists you can use. The default checklists are available via the menu and you can also create your own!

Anything goes - whether it's tools, kitchen utensils, stuffed animals for company - whatever you put on your list.
And I'll share mine...when I come home!

Emergency propane heater. Mr Buddy or MB Jr. Furnaces fail (ours twice - thermostat, circuit board) and campsite power can fail in a storm (a cold, wet Nov. night in a county park beside the Columbia River when both the thermostat and campsite power failed taught me this lesson).

I make sure Chief, my husband, has his ‘what if’ bag of tools and stuff! The man is great at repairing or fixing anything and he usually has a tool or part to take care of whatever is broken. A number of years ago, he used wire to “repair” something that broke inside the driver side front wheel area of our rental car when we were north of Yellowstone in an unpopulated canyon area. We had no cell reception and no road traffic to offer help. His “repair” worked and allowed us to limp down the highway a few miles where we came across an out of business restaurant with a working pay phone out front so we could call the rental company for help. Yep, the first thing on my list is Chief and his tool bag of wire, duct tape...

And he really needs a MacGyver University Tee Shirt to wear. A very quick search on Amazon or Google will find one.
Hopefully he has a Swiss Army Knife as well.

Please don’t use a “Water Thief” on an unthreaded campground faucet. They are installed to prevent cross-contamination of the water system, especially in areas where freezing weather prevents the use of anti siphon devices.

We've modified our Solo Stove to burn heating wood pellets. Legal and ethical to move across any border. Makes a wonderful, safe, smoke free campfire.

To start with, I have the Ranger model Solo Stove (the smaller diameter of the 3 Solo Stoves fire pits, ~12" ID). I found a perforated stainless disc in the form of a giant ladle on Amazon, drilled some extra holes and removed the handle. This sits convex side up inside the stove, directly on the Ranger's deck (which is also slightly convex). The perforations are small enough not to allow the wood pellets to fall through and still allow plenty of air circulation to produce the beautiful dancing flame. Equal to the efficiency of a Flame Genie, but you can't burn wood in that.
Nice part about this modification is that it is removable (just sits inside) and you can still burn camp wood with or without the screen in place with the same famous Solo Stove efficiency.
I start with about 5lbs of pellets and use a homemade wax and sawdust firestarter to start. Average burn time is 45min to an hour which is perfect for us. It can be reloaded a handful at a time without smoldering, but we found after a nice enjoyable fire and a beer and we were ready to go inside anyway.
Pros: you can transport pellets anywhere and they are commonly found at big box stores and farm supplies. A 50lb bag is less than $5 and gives us easily a weeks+ worth of enjoyable fires. No annoying smudge pot campfire smoke to choke your neighbors either; it burns out as cleanly as it burns, and with a fascinating glow. .
Cons: you have to keep the pellets dry and you have to add pellets slowly by the handful to extend the burn time and keep from smothering the flame. Also, I don't know if this will work in the larger Bonfire or Yukon size stoves.
