Exclamation I95N traffic alert NJ to NY

Work on the I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway will cause delays for motorists traveling from NJ to NY
Beginning in July, for 6 months, construction on the I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway may cause significant eastbound traffic delays, including on the GWB. Plan accordingly and check 511NJ.org for current traffic conditions. Visit NYSDOT for project information.

thanks for sharing that with the forum.

we're waiting to see what kind of Eastbound traffic backup will occur on Monday....

of course, no Airstreamer in their right mind wants to be on that route, anyway, except for going to & from Long Island!

any traveler from the south or west heading to New England is strongly advised to take NJ 17 and the Garden State Parkway to the NYS Thruway and across the Tappan Zee Bridge. or, depending on your final destination, follow the NYS Thruway north and cross at Newburgh, New Paltz, or Kingston.

best,

There are several alternative routes that will take you around NYC. I use them all the time. 95 through the CITY is always a big ? . Tappan Zee bridge is my route of choice then onto Rt. 684 to 84 . It's the only way to go to New England destinations. Especially with an AS in tow. Of course, the volume of traffic can throw anything in your face so BEWARD. Coming from central Jersey there are several routes that I take to get to the TZB. Whether or not I have my AS in tow dictates the route. Some of them have trailer restrictions. Listen to the radio to get the traffic reports and choose your route accordingly.

Take care, See ya on the road sometime.
