I *HATE* hail!

As we speak, sitting in a campground in Nathrop, CO hearing quarter sized hail pelting the skin. Campsite is a flooded mess. Fortunately, the family and the dogs are curled up safely inside an dry but otherwise LOUD Airstream. Hopefully, the damage will be minimal or less.

Bummer, hopefully no damage. That's a nice rig you have.

We had a hail storm last week. Not a common occurrence here in WNY.

I think the fact we're right on Lake Erie saved us. Seems quite a few folks

south and west of us got wacked pretty good.

Definately one of a Streamer's worst fears. I remember back in the 90's

we were at JC to have a fridge replaced in our 63 Safari and they were

work'n overtime fix'n the "Bismarck's" from the National Rally.

Hope all has worked well for you.

Good luck. I hope you fare better than Cosmo did... and Cosmo was UNDER COVERED storage...

I wouldn't worry about the dings right now, every time I get hailed on I worry about the skylights and fantastic vents.

Roll of Duck tape and tarp is in the trailer at all times... just in case...

Update: It hailed for a good 15 minutes, but it look like the brunt of it just skirted us to east. No visible pock marks on the trailer that I could spot. Hail was estimated to be about 1.5 to 2 inches, so we escaped this time. A trailer two sites down from us had their main awning collapse under the weight of the hail and rain. Taco'd it right in the middle. If I had time to get my three awnings rolled in before the storm hit, so did he. Still, I feel bad for him.

Another storm just started up with lots of lighting and more rain. Fortunately, we had a brief reprieve just long enough to get a good grill session and dinner before we had to retreat back inside. Hopefully, the hail that I hear hitting now stays small this time.

Thanks for the well wishes. I know that hail is a common enemy to all Airstreamers and I feel fortunate that in almost three plus years of ownership that this is the first time that I have had to face the hail. I know it won't be the last.

You keep those items in your trailer too?

I liked your thread detailing the repair of Cosmo. Hopefully, I'll never have to have such a repair.
