what I mean by that is do you really try to make things vintage with the whole camping experience, (ie. the picnic basket, vintage coleman gear, using ice chests & candles)
OR
do we say we have a vintage trailer, restore it to its vintage A/S glory, and ... outfit it with the dvd player, AC unit, electric blanket, 2002 Wally world camping gear?
Just asking...I prefer not to live in the past, but use those wonderful inventions of others as best I can!
We're working on gathering some up too, light weight and nonbreakable, nice that you have a complete set. My wife has already begun accessory shopping, we haven't even bought our trailer yet! It'll be fun!
Oh, we know all too well about that addictive website. They need an EBAYer's anonymous group. We try and surf it in moderation, you can always seem to find something you want on there. It seems like it's gotten a little crazy as of late though (i.e. jack plate).
I notice that you are still searching for the right Airstream. If I may, allow me to give you a contact. There is a huge Airstream park in Melbourne, Florida, that is about to close down. From what I understand, the land is owned by the Airport Authority, which wants it back. Most of the owners are from the north. Many are older folks. Many of those just don't want to deal with having to find a new permanent winter home for their trailer. I work for a Melbourne-based company, and had been looking at trailers as they trickled onto the market over the past three or four years. The trickle seems to be increasing, as I drove through their storage lot recently and saw about six or seven for sale. I bought an absolutely beautiful 1986 31' Sovereign several months ago. It had less than 2000 road miles on it, although it was 16 years old. All I did was buy new tires, repack the bearings, and clean it up some. We are delighted with it. One point of contact I know who still does some light brokering for other owners: Jerry Power, telephone: 321/727-3146. He can tell you what is available perhaps. Good luck.

Shari's rig looks like she's been working on it...since we saw it at the Vintage Airsteam rally in Estes Park last summer. It was really nice then. We're still hunting for that "Just right" vintage A/S.
