How to move in campgrounds

Hi the Community;

Not many places to move in good position, the caravan in french areas Campgrounds . So the European caravans can be moved by hand, because they are smaller, lighter and they have made to be pushed by hand; So with the Airstream it's impossible; I've bought a dolly wheel but with the 2 axels, but that can't move or turn...

Last week , before the campground final departure, I've seen an English camper, moved his caravan with little motors on each wheels; His caravan moved alone and the Guy had a wireless box with a sort of joystick, to move and turn completly the caravan... nearly incredible !
But it was a single axel !

I wondered if there was this kind of accessory for the airstreams trailers with 2 axels, or something else, because it's always a great problem, for me, to go in or out my place, in campgrounds. Last time, in the south of FRANCE, I've got 3 hours to go away....

Put a reciever hitch on the FRONT of your tow rig. You would not believe how easy it is to put it exactly where you want it with a front hitch .

Rick, I don't got at home , the trailer life magazine ( not too airstream life; postage is too much expensive to FRANCE ). so if you can give me some links, it'ld be great !!!
59toaster, good idea; I've to check if my F150 accept an hitch receiver on the front because there is a great accessory ( I don't know how you call that ) to protect the grille and lights. In french, we call that " un pare-buffle " .

Hi Ron; yes 3 hours , I'had to mount and dismountle all the sway system to let the caravan in position and move the pick up each time;
I've seen your link with TRUMA, but no contact , no email adress.

Is there someone who has equiped his Airstream with this kind of "motors on wheels " ??,
certainly not easy to install the motors on the frame because under the caravan, it is protected and the frame are not visible .

hi all
bruno i have the same problem in french campsite.you must put a reciever hitch on the FRONT of your tow vehicle. it's very easy .it's most economic.

VERY expensive to move a caravan.
