They count. I have the odemeter readings to prove it!

I am hoping that will slow down on 2008 when I build the Airstream Palace.

We only had only one trip - Minnesota to Aspen. Colorado. Perhaps 2000 miles.

We are too busy with work, teenage daughter, and exchange students. But this summer our exchange student returns home and our daughter graduates from High School and becomes an exchange student, then away to college. We will be kid-less for the first time in 26 years (over half my life). It will be a difficult transition... but also an opportunity to use the trailer more!

My Airstream did 3,500miles to get to the UK from the US

Since then she's been loaded on a trailer to travel 16 miles from Southampton to Salisbury. She was then towed approx. 80 yards to her winter pitch.

I'm ambivalent about owning a trailer that doesn't move - much! My sister calls me white trash , but my wife calls me McDreamy!

I felt better about it when I read the preface to "Airstream Life", it describes an elderly couple who hitched up their AS every Friday evening and drove it 3.5 miles to camp for the weekend, arriving back on a Sunday as the sun set.

The cross-eyed builder(No right angles in our house) who put up our cottage in the 1830s probably thought the biggest thing we'd ever have to garage would be a horse! So keeping it outside the front door would put us on the national traffic reports every day!

I will travel vicariously through all your stories - and anyway if travelling is about discovering people I'm certainly doing that!

Marc

Just a little quick "cyphering" as I finish my warm up cup of coffee and head off to the the ole treadmill, but I would imagine somewhere around 6000 last year. We try to stay within a 100 miles for our monthly (hopefully) jaunt, a two-weeker to Taos, N.M. and South Fork, Colorado and then a 10-day (5-state) trip to Ohio (J.C.) and back through Tenn. I, like some others, still work so can't go as much as some who have posted many more miles (envious as I can be).

I think we were in the 2200-2500 range last year. I also think we used it around 9-10 weekends plus 2 weeks.

its not the miles

Its not the miles, its the misty mornings, the birds on the wing, the laid back BBQ, need I continue?

Dag-gum it!?#$^

Hello all -

Thought I was 'sumpin' last night.... went back over the TV mileage logs (EVERY day gets a log entry) and totalled up the miles, nights, etc... since SilverToy joined us...

"BirthDay" March 14th, 2005
68 nights since then!!!
10675 miles with nary a problem (knock wood)

then.... find the thread to proudly acclaim all the above....

the thread says '06 miles!!! Sigh.

Have to go back and break them down by year I guess......

Back to the 'salt mines'....

But still, pretty good totals, huh? I was impressed, if I do say so myself.

GREAT MEMORIES!!!! EVERY ONE!!!!

Thanks for listening.

Axel
