How many?

If there are 60% of all AS still on the road, how many does that represent?

Hey tinman! You know I love folks who challenge the company "speak".

Sounds like someone at A/S would have had to go back to every state's DMVR and ask for records to substantiate that claim.

Jack,
Maybe they could just tell us how many were made and we could take it from there! What do you think?

Yeah, that assumes the 60% number is accurate.

I have personally towed over 50 Airstreams, So I can say for sure there are at least 50 Airstreams still on the road.

Somewhere recently (can't remember where) I read or heard the number 100,000 in relation to the number of Airstream's still on the road. I just can't remember if the 100,000 was the total number made or the 60% still on the road. Somehow I think it may have been a quote from Airstream President Dicky Riegel, but I'm not sure.

Either way, 100,000 may be "in the ball park", as I think they are now making over 1000/year again (it was slower for a while). I suspect that they made more than this each year during the heyday of the 60's & 70's when there were two plants in operation.

I think roadworthy is the key. I hate the thought of drinking a coors lite from a can made from a recycled Airstream.
