How do you display your WBCCI numbers if not directly on the Aluminum body?

I'd like to display my WBCCI numbers at certain events but would rather not stick them directly on the trailer. I'm considering mounting our numbers on a laser cut aluminum panel in the shape of an Airstream. Has anyone done this on aluminum or plexiglass and how do you display/mount the number panel on your trailer while parked at your camping spot?

I used a piece of plexiglass, and then added suction cups which attach to the plexiglass on one end ... They work great..They were purchased on eBay

Where do you mount the plexi on your trailer?

I have the same question. We are leaving this week for our first caravan and were told to display our numbers for the parkers, so they can check us off their list. I thought we could just display them on the inside of the front and back windows somehow but the plexiglass shield over the front window is too dark for that. Not sure if the suction cups would hold on while traveling. I saw someone applied their decals directly onto the shield, that might be okay. I also saw someone wrote their numbers on a scrap of cardboard and duct taped it to the window. Hmmm...maybe not that.

Anyway, I hope some more people have ideas to share.

Following... we are joining our unit caravan to International next month and need to add numbers as well. Saw this picture on an older thread - looks nice with the silver paint on the plexiglass, but we haven’t made ours yet. We too have the dark outer shield on the front. Looks to me like you would mount this once you arrive but remove in transit.

Curious to see others suggestions...

We did ours like this and got it from http://weatheredandworn.design/ and they also make screen guards for the door. [ATTACH]

We received the same number holder from Weathered and Worn on Friday and put the numbers on this afternoon. The suction cup hooks look like the perfect solution. Many thanks.

Were the numbers you placed on the display the standard sized numbers from WBCCI?

Thanks!

Yes. Kendall Jones at http://weatheredandworn.design/ asks for your trailer model, length and the number of red numbers. He takes design input based on a couple of provided AS silhouettes.

Perfect - we have ours ordered; these folks are responsive and quick on turn-around.

Thanks!

We ordered the same number plate which arrived yesterday.
How did you attach the suction cups to the plate?

Appreciate any info.

Just drilled two small holes that the suction cups would fit through.

Would you drive with the suction cups or put on when parked? Did you do one for front and back? Thanks.

We ordered a pair for front and back. Just received this week. They are heavy enough that the weight and rough ride will most likely get the best of the suction cups in transit. To avoid a gravity storm, we plan to mount on the windows upon arrival at the rally. Will keep laying flat in transit...

... that’s the plan, sorta like the plans laid-out by Wile E. Coyote to capture the Road Runner (except the supplies and detailed blueprint plans didn’t come from Acme.)

Ta da... here’s what we ended up with. I think it would make Wile E. Coyote proud. Actual credit to Kendall and Brandy -- great work and responsiveness on the aluminum shape; we added the numbers and other appurtenances shown. Will see how it does in real life, but I like it.

Folks will check you out as you travel. If no numbers are displayed, they will be so disappointed. So if you can find a way to post them while traveling, that would be best. Some caravan leaders check you off as you enter and leave an overnight or the common waypoints so they do not lose you.

Options/ideas
- bigger suction cups - one held up our camera while on the road.
- a number set that is a bit shorter/smaller will fit on rear bumper & LPG cover
- a cling sheet or cling numbers might just be the ticket - autocross numbers

Show your numbers and smile. Pat

Too late now... will work great for our limited purposes. (We may upgrade unit sometime in the near future and may affix numbers to new AS then.)
