Progress as of 9-13-9. Looks like the arc is pretty much complete. Now you can see the 'box' forms for the start of the columns that will hold the roadway.
Anyone familiar with the area knows the curvey road aproaching from NV side is posted 25mph and today we were sure glad we were doing about 20mph when about 70-80 feet in front us a Big Horned Sheep suddenly appeared, jumped the guard rail, crossed the street, jumped opposite guard rail and went on his way. These cliffs are straight up & down, though not extremely steep at this point, and this guy walked like he was on a flat surface. Sure was a neat thing to see.
According to the inspectors at the check point completion is on schedule for late 2010.

That bridge is just drop-dead gorgeous! And what a spectacular view you get from it of the dam! I'll have to come out there just to see the new bridge! I last crossed the dam at about 10 p.m. and it kind of spooked me...so huge and dark...kind of like the canyons. I'd like to see it again in "friendly sunlight".
